Yeah, they use that "Breaking News" bar for anything, I actually think its rarer to see the normal news ticker, everytime I've switched on Sky in the past few weeks there has been some sort of "Breaking News". I wonder if they'll announce Joe...? Or is that wishful thinking?

I think Leona and Cheryl are confirmed because they've actually already recorded their bits, so whatever happens they'll be on it.

 

If they say other stars who have said they want to be on it, but don't mange to record for it, then it'll make them look a bit silly - so we could see anyone...

The single will split all proceeds between ‘DEC’ (Disasters Emergency Committee) http://www.dec.org.uk/ and The ‘Helping Haiti’ appeal for Medecins Sans Frontieres UK http://www.msf.org.uk/.

 

Disasters Emergency Committee, Chief Executive Brendan Gormley said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to help those recording, producing and buying this charity single make a difference in Haiti. More and more water, food, household items and medical supplies are getting through to the earthquake survivors. Buying the charity single will greatly aid our work and help us work with survivors in Haiti to rebuild new lives from the ruins.’

The point of Charity singles is because people always want something for their money. It gives people who wouldn't normally/can't afford to give to charity a reason to give to charity.

This reminds me of the 2001 US charity single 'What's Going On' collectively known as Artists Against Aids:
