Staygold promote Backseat with Robyn as Salem wins at Rontvia Awards 2010

 

The annual 'Rontvia Awards 2010' were held in Klurren last night with all of the biggest names in music turning up. Music sales are expected to increase dramatically following the awards, particularly for multiple winners Anna Abreu, Lady GaGa and Alcazar. The list of winners is below;

 

Best Rontvian Female: Anna Abreu

Best Rontvian Male: Salem Al Fakir aka Damien Adore

Best International Female: Lady GaGa

Best International Male: Måns Zelmerlöw

Best Rontvian Group: Beautiful Small Machines

Salem Al Fakir, who won best male artist, turned up with Staygold, Spank Rock and Robyn, who was filling in for Lady Tigra, to perform a stunning rendition of their BJSC entry Backseat. The song has been revealed as the #1 single in FSR Rontvia for a third consecutive week, shifting almost a million units so far.

 

Weirdly, i've been thinking about making Elëdan Awards recently as well :o

Alcazar, Anna, Agnes and GaGa ruled FSR Rontvia in 2010 so the winners of the awards, voted for by the public, weren't a surprise to many...except best international male - the bookies favourites were Owl City and Alexander Rybak, but the teenage girl vote clearly went the way of Måns :kink:

Out of 5 nominations Owen Pallett has got 4 awards missing only on the best single of the year losing this category to the sensation of the last year - Ólafur Arnalds. Three nominations have been Owen vs Jónsi vs Ólafur which caused some rumours and gossip in these 2 weeks time. Sadly Marina & The Diamonds, the chart STORMER at the moment ccouldn't win the other two nominations, as the best video and the best international single. Jónsi who has been nominated for the awards 5 times this year received only one for the best video, 'Go Do'. And probably one of the most anticipated awards of the year, the best BJSC Award, has gone to Ólafur Arnalds with 'Ljósið' which took place in XXII shockingly finishing at the high 7th position with 117 points.
