January 25, 201015 yr Wow for Take That! Number four in the album stakes and they've only been active for less than four years of the decade! Thought they'd be around the 20 position. Norma
January 25, 201015 yr Wow. James Blunt only #32 even when he had the best selling album of the noughties. Edited January 25, 201015 yr by Riverside FM11
January 25, 201015 yr Westlife at #2 on both despite them releasing perhaps only 1 halfway decent song throughout the whole decade AWFUL
January 25, 201015 yr Well done Will #8th & #24th. Proof Will is the most successful talent show winner in the UK.
January 25, 201015 yr Wouldn't it be interesting to see where Westlife would be if these figures were divided by the number of singles and albums released? Justin Timberlake is further down the singles list than his fame would suggest.
January 25, 201015 yr 49 MUSE 50 DAVID BOWIE 3,390,394 so Muse have sold more than that? That's quite good considering they never had any albums in the Top 10 Albums of the Year charts.
January 25, 201015 yr What an truly awful decade. I see Westlife's war of attrition has paid off handsomely. -_- LOL @ the Beatles (7) and Elvis (14) - will any of the current lot be selling in the 2040's? :heehee: Edited January 25, 201015 yr by Ethan.
January 25, 201015 yr Wow. James Blunt only #32 even when he had the best selling album of the noughties. That's what a tragic selling second album does to your overall sales tally. 'Back To Bedlam' must make up 95% of his overall sales compared to 'All The Lost Souls' 5%?
January 26, 201015 yr The albums chart does seem to have more 'oldies' in than the singles one. Guess it proves though who the defining acts that will pass the test of time are. Gah at the Westlife invasion :/ It highlights how atrocious the last decade truly was. I'm glad P!nk did well on both though.
January 26, 201015 yr Best-selling artists of the Noughties Singles - UK 05 GIRLS ALOUD Woah! :w00t: Absolutely amazing, to say the didn't have an extra 3 years worth of sales, that other artists did! :cheer: Best-selling artists of The Noughties Albums - UK 41 GIRLS ALOUD Not as good, but beating Leona kind of says how well they did! :o
January 26, 201015 yr Well done Will #8th & #24th. Proof Will is the most successful talent show winner in the UK. Not for long mateeey! :P ^_^ Imagine, thats with only 3 years worth of sales, leona is going to climb every single year :yahoo: EDIT:- LOL Leona has sold millions worldwide making her easily the biggest talent show winner ever from the UK, probably worldwide too! ;) Edited January 26, 201015 yr by LL1
January 26, 201015 yr How does that compare to the 90s? I'm assuming the Spice Girls trounced all comers in the singles....
January 26, 201015 yr Very interesting stuff.. How come Mariah Carey is so high in singles? Did she have other huge hits than We Belong Together? I'm sure I've forgotten something.. Her duet with Westlife wasn't that successful. EDIT: All I Want for Christmas Is You of course Edited January 26, 201015 yr by SKOB
January 26, 201015 yr Lady GaGa already number 15 in the singles list :) I know and she was only active for a whole year and almost sold as much as Kylie who was active July 2000 - July 2008 although she did have a break of over 2 year due to her cancer. Is there any write up to go with this pretty please? Thanks
