looks like this is being boycotted by Odeon, Vue and Cineworld. because Disney wont contract it for more than 12 weeks.

95% of the UK's 3D cinema screens are owned by those 3 companies.

Disney is gonna lose a lot of money from this if they dont ge their act together.

I know I read that a while back  I think they said that Disney was sorting it out though. If they don't, then I can't see the film, because I only have Odeon and Vue cinema's anywhere near me!

I went to my local cineworld yesterday, and there were four posters for "Alice In Wonderland" up, on the inside. So at this moment in time, it doesn't look like my local cinema will boycott it :)
I think Disney are pathetic, money grabbing whores tbh. They better not ruin the release of the film. I rarely get excited about movies but this looks amazing! Fingers crossed they sort it out...

Disney have sorted things out with CineWorld now, so they're definitely going to show it, but they need to hurry up with Odeon and Vue! I only have Odeon and Vue cinemas anywhere near me! And I have to see the film!

More scenes, and a bit of commentary from Tim, Helena, Anne, Johnny and Mia :w00t:

I'm really looking forward to seeing this if all goes to plan. My local cinema is a cineworld one!

Lucky you! Mine's Odeon <_<

Technically my nearest cinema is a Showcase, but I always bypass it to go to Cineworld

I'll have to hunt down a CineWorld to watch it :kink:
Why Disney want to rush it to DVD/Blu when it won't be anywhere near the same as the 3D experience is beyond me. Plus Disney don't exactly release 3D movies yet. James Cameron is supposed to want to hold back the Avatar DVD/Blu until 3D technology arrives in homes at the back end of the year.
Bugger the nearest we have is Odeon, but they have a big cardboard cutout for Alice In Wonderland displayed for future releases.

Precisely.... But then again... On the other hand... Put out the normal DVD/Blu-ray in May, then later a "Special Edition" 3D one in time for Christmas.... Profiteering b'astards..... <_<

Odean offically annouced today they wont be showing it, Vue is also looking likely.

TBH, I'm with Odeon.. I reckon that anything that can be done to extend the Cinema life of a film, should be done... I really dont like the way that Disney is putting this out on DVD within a couple of months of the UK cinema release.... It's just cynical.... I shall be going to see this film.. In the CINEMA.... Bollocks to Disney DVD, I'll download the fukker when a 3D blu-ray version hits the net.....

im on the cinema's side, dont want to see the film though tbh, not much of a Burton fan, or a fan of the story, intresting to follow this feud though.

Oh, I like Tim Burton alright, but do wonder at some of his choices ("Planet of the Apes", "Big Fish", "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" - not really great..), but then he'll turn around and do a stone-cold classic like "Sweeney Todd" (absolutely bloody SUPERB..), and his past films, like the "Batman" films, "Edward Scissorhands", "Nightmare Before Christmas", "Beetlejuice", "Ed Wood", "Sleepy Hollow"... all really excellent....
