I loved the video for Let Your Head Go, so funny. Proved that she didnt take herself so seriously as she was portrayed. Prefer "This Groove" though as the song. However my fav Victoria song is still A Mind Of Its Own.

Nelly Furtado - "Try" - still my favourite single of hers. It would have been big had it been a single from Loose rather than Folklore

How do you make that out? Do you think it would have got better promotion? Or would it be that more people were interested in her because of Man Eater?

Exactly. Do you think All Good Things (Come To An End) would have been as huge had it not followed Maneater & Promiscuous? I think not. Try is equally as gorgeous as All Good Things which is why I made that comparison.

One song that come to mind for me is Melanie C - Carolyna.

The song is more pop/rock which is sort of the trend at the moment.

I believe if she released it around March/April time, she would have a chance at making the top 15 with it, possibly even top 10.

Ke$ha's Tik Tok. This would have been a HUGE number one hit if she released this early this year rather than late last year.

From This Year, I Would Say

The Saturdays - Ego (If released as lead single or not of album as the album version sold many before official release) could of at least reach #4 or higher

Alexandra Burke - Broken Heels (Same reason)

Britney's Gimme More & Womanizer would've been #01's had she not released in the hardest week ever! :(

Pendulum - Slam.

This was one of my favourite songs of the last decade, but back in 2005 that style of drum & bass wasn't as mainstream and it only just sneaked into the top 40. If they released this as a single now they're megastars, it'd go straight into the top 5.

Eminem - You Don't Know.

It has enough sales to go top 10, but it wasn't allowed cos it had a sticker with it or some $h!t like that, so only reached #32. I think this would've been bigger today than back in 2007/08.

just thinking about something from another thread

Emma Bunton's 2003/4 era was about 5 years ahead of it's time - Free Me, Maybe and I'll Be There could have done well in 2008 along with Duffy, Adele, the Amy's, Gabriella etc...

all three were top ten hits but they didn't particularly linger around for very long and would have got much more airplay in 2008

YES! 'Slam' is AMAZING

Although these were big hits (VERY big I should say) I think they could easily have been one of the longest Top 40 stayers or whatever if released now...

t.A.T.u 'All The Things She Said'

Girls Aloud 'Sound of the Underground'

Britney Spears 'Gimme More' would completely be bigger now, if she used it as the lead for her next album, with a better video. The video probably killed that song for most people :(

Interesting point. Even got me thinking about this after our comments in the other thread. 'Maybe' is a great track with a brilliant video. I wonder how well that song would've done in the downlaod era.

Just thought of another one

Britney Spears 'Stronger'! WELL ahead of it's time and one of her underrated classics!

'N Sync's Pop was quite ahead of its time I thought...compared to the clunky Max Martin type production line piano pop of It's Gonna Be Me and I'll Never Stop, Pop really seemed a hell of a lot more advanced and fresh considering it was released less than 12 months after these two songs...

Pop, Gone and Girlfriend could all quite easily be hits in the current climate I reckon actually, with maybe a bit of updated production - any earlier 'N Sync material would stand no chance nowadays

What about rapture i love to hear that song. It makes me feel like flying...she is too good. WOW and IN MY ARMS is defiantly a good one. Personaly i love RAPTURE.

Rest list is best for me too...

Thanks

Jamelia's "Beware Of The Dog" was definitely a missed opportunity. Probably a few years ahead of its time as well.

I disagree...this was copy carbon of Rihanna's SOS which it was pretty huge and was #1 if I'm not mistaken.

Beware of the Dog is HARDLY a carbon copy of SOS (which got to #2 anyway :P) - it samples a completely different song for one! I'd say that would've gone down far better about two or three years later...

I'd say Kelly Osbourne - One Word and the entirety of Rachel Stevens' Come And Get It era was very ahead of its time. I'd say there's also a trend of some songs coming along too late...I reckon had The Noisettes - Never Forget You and Paloma Faith - New York been released 12 months before they'd have both easily gone top 3, if not more.

You are :kink: - It was number 2, behind Gnarls Barkley

Edit: What Tyron said!
