Now #393 on itunes and still climbing! I think over the coming weeks it may be taken off to help build demand.

I hope it doesn't get taken off, but it would be sort of nice if it was popular enough for that to happen, if you get what I mean.
'Alors On Danse' has a whole month to build up momentum if it's getting released on 9th August. Would be excellent to see the track do well in the UK - there's no reason why it can't when you consider foreign language tracks that have been successful in the UK charts (ie; 'Rock Me Amadeus', 'Voyage Voyage', 'Joe Le Taxi', 'Moi...Lolita' and 'Dragostea Din Tei').

Yeah I see what you mean plus it may mean a fake version will do well instead. Anyway I still think the label will take the album off in the next week or two, I'm hoping it'll chart at least top 5!

Yeah, the version by DJ Team was doing quite well before Stromae's version went on iTunes, so I suspect everybody desperate would just buy that version again.

I'm pretty sure this will flop now. It's still getting absolutely no promotion, especially when you compare it to other tracks with the same release date. :(

It still hasn't been played on the radio, even once.

9th August is over a month away, it's a bit early to say that.

I can't imagine this flopping, it'd seem strange given it's always so huge when I hear it played out in clubs and bars.

Sadly none of the clubbers are going home to download it as it's barely made a dent on iTunes so far :(

Needs radio or at the very least blanket TV play to have a shot at being a UK hit.

Probably because said clubbers have no idea what it's called... They need to do an edit of the UK Club Mix, or at the very least a semi-instrumental of the original version, because like it or not UK TV/radio is not going to play a rap song all in French :(

What's surprised me the most is that Clubland TV haven't even playlisted the video (as far as I'm aware) despite the song being tracklisted on their latest compilation.

Anyways, the UK charts have generally been crap so far this year so Stromae flopping in the UK could be considered a compliment. :P

I love this song, i discovered it when i was on holiday in Germany.. why is it that the UK seems to be the only country Europe that doesn't accept anything not in their native language?

playing on Radio 1 right now :D Floorfillers

Scott Mills already told the people texting that it's "Alors on Danse" and not "I Love Dance"...

Really? That's great news!! Was it the UK Club Mix, or the Radio Edit?

I don't know if this is a result of Radio 1 playing it, but it's #300 on iTunes, it's highest position so far!

But why would the texters think it was called "I Love Dance"? Were they mis-hearing it as "J'adore le Danse", and then translating that as "I Love Dance" or something?

Alors On Danse sounds like "I love dance" but saying "dance" in a rather posh way. Something like "I love darnce".

At least the song has actually started to get a little bit of airplay. A taster of things to come? ^_^ Scott Mills should make this his record of the week. Then there'll be no avoiding the song on his show.

I need to listen back to this. Random question, did he say Strow-my or Strow-may? (The first is correct.)

Ahh, I see, thanks. :)

I've alwayes pronounced it as "Stro-my", because I always thought "ae" sounds like "I", like in amphorae.
