July 2, 201015 yr Author Well that's english for you. "ae" can also sound like "ee" and "ay", haemoglobin, formulae.
July 3, 201015 yr I just listened to this, he played the original version, although HIGH-lariously, they censored the word "merde" It's not even that offensive in French, it's basically the equivalent of crap... but then again you should never say kiss in French, they're pretty f***ed up  Love that I'm In Love track he played just before Stromae... I think it's Alex Gaudino?
July 3, 201015 yr They should just call it i love dance but not change the actual song lyrics, making it uk requestable friendly ha
July 3, 201015 yr Author No, certainly not :P That would be just calling the UK a dumb country tbh ;)
July 3, 201015 yr Fantastic :o I hope it can follow suit onto the Radio 1 playlist now. Or is two foreign language top ten hits in the space of a month two much to ask seeing as we haven't had any since 2004
July 3, 201015 yr Author Well the Yolanda Be Cool one barely counts, its mostly instrumental tbh. Like I said before, most songs played on floorfillers are not playlisted on R1.
July 4, 201015 yr #346 on UK iTunes. 345 places too low. :( Why isn't this song heading for no. 1 in the UK instead of that absolute crap that JLS are passing off as a new "song". It's not even a song. It's just a monstrosity and surely taking the p*** out of the UK public stating "they'll buy anything because it's us". One big --->
July 4, 201015 yr I actually don't mind the JLS song, but I also wish Alors on danse could be having equal levels of hype and success. Anyway, the song has climbed into (and fell out of) the top 300 3 times at least. Hopefully in a couple of weeks it'll get into the top 200 on iTunes. Edited July 4, 201015 yr by Eric_Blob
July 6, 201015 yr http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00sy3r1#p008qlct It seems the song has just been played on Radio 1 for the 2nd time now, on the Review Show. I've listened to the show a few times, and they usually discuss each of the tracks for a while, rate it (out of 100), and then the song with the highest score gets guaranteed to be played later on in the week (so I hope Stromae won ), so it should be interesting, just to hear their opinions of the song. It's a bit annoying though, because I was listening to the show live, but I only tuned in when they were discussing Drake's song (one of the guys was having a rant about it not being proper hip hop ). EDIT: Alors on danse got 60%, so it didn't win. :( At least it was played though! I've just listened to it now. They seemed to find the title of the album really funny. They think it means cheese, as in the food. It got 44%, 40%, 95% from each of the reviewers. Edited July 6, 201015 yr by Eric_Blob
July 6, 201015 yr Jesus. OK, that was harrowing :snif: It got 44% from Viz from 1Xtra, and took the p*** out of the album Cheese, the guy from Foals didn't like the sax, gave it 40%, but he said it was all over Europe, some guy called Chris liked it though, gave it 95%, it put a massive smile on his face, upset that it would be classed with Basshunter, which he can't stand.. Nihal said the other two were just trying to be cool though. Playlist credentials - not looking good :(
July 6, 201015 yr I don't know how much bearing this show has though. I listened to it once last year, and they were reviewing Fireflies, and they all slated that too. I've only listened to the program a few times, but I think 60% is quite a good score (well, better than Jedward's 2% at least!). But it's one more airplay, and at least one of the guys emphasized how huge it is in the rest of Europe.
July 6, 201015 yr Author Why would they get some nobody from some random indie band to review the track? Of course he doesn't like it. Get me on their playlist review, and I'd give the Foals a big fat 0% anyway.
July 6, 201015 yr Haha. And what was with that guy going on about bagpipes? And another one was going on about a nose-whistle or something. To be fair though, I think they introduced Stromae well. Like they talked about what country he's from, and one of the guys had checked out the whole album, it seemed.
July 7, 201015 yr ^ I hate how members of indie bands have to pretentious and even if an indie song is rubbish they will say it is great... annoys me endlessly...
July 7, 201015 yr I've come to the point now where I really couldn't care less about how well 'Alors On Danse' performs in the UK chart. It's been no. 1 in 12 countries. How many other countries will Tinie Tempah get to no. 1 in? I will take back my comment if 'Pass Out' ends up going to no. 1 all over the world - I just don't see it happening.
July 8, 201015 yr There is a version of Alors on Dance I received from the promo company that features Erik Hassle singing the verses in English, with Stromae singing the chorus. There's a chance that they might promote this as the version as a 'radio friendly' English version. Edited July 8, 201015 yr by Brett-Butler
