Heard this in November when the Video came out, most played on my Last FM since! Listen to 'Up Saw Liz' - Stromae, I find it so addictive, and he says the lyrics 'Up saw liz' is garbage! A la, O-Zone?

Wow! That's a very good song too.

Also, Alors on Danse has climbed up to #67 in Canada!!!!! :cheer:

I don't know how far it can get without it being played on most of the radio stations though.

On the top 100 yes, but not the top 40 (AFAIK?)
The top 40 chart is very biased towards middle of the road English music, because it includes airplay from certain radio stations.

Alors on Danse has climbed 4 places to #63 in Canada.

And it's now #1 in Europe, for the 3rd time (1st time was in March, 2nd time in April), replacing Telephone.

How long since a French song did that?

Probably ages, all these reached #2:

Kate Ryan - Ella Elle L'a

Kate Ryan - Desenchantée

In-Grid - Tu Es Fouto

Alizee - Moi Lolita

Manau - La Tribu De Dana

and K-Maro and then Nadiya only made the top20, so I can't think of anything else that's recent-ish

I recently got around to listening to the video clip you posted in your chart thread Hits, this song actually isn't that bad... It's not going to set my world on fire but it's better than I expected it to be.

I thought that when it first entered my chart at no. 10 but it started leaking into my brain and now it's all about the "alors on danse", the repetitive saxophone sample and the "alors on chantes (la la laa)". :D

Give it time, it will set your world on fire. :w00t: Or perhaps dent your top 50 at...ooh let's see, no. 46? :D

Alors on Danse was a grower for me. I saw it was European number-one, so I thought I better give it a listen. At first I thought it was okay, but I found the saxophone a bit annoying. The other 3 European number-ones this year were Bad Romance, Tik Tok and Meet Me Halfway, (and now also Telephone) and, at first, I really thought Alors on Danse paled in comparison to those songs, but now I think it's just as good.

My favourite parts of the song are the "La la la la" bit and the bits of the instrumental, that start about 30 seconds into the song, and recur throught the song at various points (I don't know how to describe it with words :(). I also don't notice the saxophone so much anymore. It blends into the song well, but I thought it was quite peculiar to hear such an instrument in a song in 2010, when I first heard it. :D

The saxophone hasn't sounded so good since 'Infinity 2008' by Guru Josh Project and 'Destination Calabria' by Alex Gaudino Vs Crystal Waters in 2007. ^_^ It's not so peculiar to hear a saxophone in a dance track when you consider these tracks.
