June 2, 201015 yr Author Not top 40 on midweeks :arrr: I just sent this email to her record company, and a smilar one to the Official Charts company... Hi there I'm wondering if you would be able to answer this question, or if not forward this email to someone who can? I need to know if the song Satelite by Lena is eligible to chart in the UK this week, or whether the record company have blocked it. It was the winning song of the Eurovision Song Contest last Saturday and it's currently top 20 on UK iTunes, and has been so for the last three days, however the data currently available does not show it as being a new entry in the top 40 singles this week as it should be. Please can you clarify the situation for me. It's important that this artist, who is currently enjoying major European success, does not get left behind in the UK market. Many thanks, Tom K
June 2, 201015 yr Nice e-mail Tom, I hope you get a reply although don't be surprised if you don't :drama: I'll be pretty annoyed if it's ineligible, I was looking forward to hearing it on the chart update this afternoon!
June 2, 201015 yr Author Thanks :) I was too, I bet it will be in there tomorrow, it's almost like they don't want people to hear or buy it :(
June 2, 201015 yr It looks as if the maximum it will chart at on Sunday (if it's eligible) is probably somewhere between #25 and #30, which is so low for such a great song :( Still about the same success as Lordi though and far more than all of the other noughties winners achieved apart from Fairytale. I guess after last year my hopes were too high but Fairytale was really something else in terms of success, crossover appeal and lastability. I rarely see it out of the iTunes top 1000.
June 2, 201015 yr I wouldn't be surprised if it was perfectly eligible, just floating outside of the Top 40 at the moment. Surely that's the more likely option since it only really has been inside the iTunes T20 for about 36 hours and wasn't even available for the first day of trading?

Miley Cyrus and B.o.B's new songs (both made available at similar times) are both firmly in the top 40 already...
June 2, 201015 yr I was wondering if the update in the "Sunday Chart Predictions" thread might be wrong, and that the correct update may be on Radio 1, but I didn't say as I didn't want to seem to be doubting the info that M!key gives us :kink:
