Why is it that acts that have HUGE long running #1 singles in my personal chart always follow it up with something bland/forgettable/nowhere near as good...

In all fairness, Salem (Backseat aside...) has nothing on the album on a par with Keep On Walking :lol:

I'm still in Love with this track. It is still orgasmic.

UK music channels are continuing to support Lena :o I caught the Touch A New Day video a couple of times this morning whilst flicking music channels, once on Bliss, can't remember the other. Rather shocking stuff!

Well yeah, I'm not the hugest fan of the song either but still, it's a turn up for the books, and rather shocked me as I was flicking through! Maybe when she wins Eurovision for a second time next year with another European smash she'll take off ABBA style in the UK :kink:

 

It's not on the release schedule though and I can't see they'd want to release it here, it would obviously do nothing if Satellite could only get to #30! So I'm lost as to why music channels here have picked it up tbh :lol: The only way she'll get another hit here (short of winning ESC again), is indeed to duet with Ellie :heehee:

Same video, but the song sounds very very slightly different, sounds like she re-recorded the vocals. The backing track remains the same though.

 

I barely ever watch music channels as I don't have Sky in my bedroom but nobody else is at home so I came into watch the main TV and I'm greeted with Lena and Tone in the space of ten minutes :lol: Maybe I should watch it more often!

Agreed, I saw 'up next: Tone Damli' in the top corner of the TV whilst watching Alexandra Burke's latest car crash of a song/video, so new I had to keep watching :wub:

 

The album's been pushed back until the following week actually, but still :heehee:

not a great piece of journalism for a number of reasons really. Firstly, it's not mentioned in the article about her 2011 participation and she'll undoubtedly get a second #1 in Germany next year with her next ESC entry, which will help fill the rest of those arena seats (and why hire out arenas already? Nobody can command that sort of power based on one proper single). Secondly, she's already had three top five hits, and Mr Curiosity and something else charted as well iirc, so she's had at least a few hits at this point, definitely not just the one. Thirdly, Touch A New Day is pretty dull and uninteresting...there's only so far a song can go on star name alone, I'm surprised it got as high as #13 tbh! I'd put it in the bottom three of the album personally quality wise.

One-hit wonder a laughable concept to apply here.

 

Lena had three singles in the German Top5, a national record.

12 songs :o blimey! I wouldn't be surprised if you're right actually Jack - I bet her 2nd album will be all 12 of these songs. The Guy Chambers one has the potential to be special. I know I'm being incredible cynical about all of this as the only way is down for Lena basically, short of a miracle, but I'm still very much looking forward to hearing all of these songs!

FFS why can't Guy Chambers be bothered to do a song for us?

 

He could probably cough out five songs better than That Sounds Good To me in a very short time.

Didn't he co-write Katie Melua's The Flood which was offered for the UK ESC entry this year but turned down by the BBC? It's not his fault if they want to send dated $hite over one of the year's most interesting pop songs!

 

I just hope they get someone relevant for our entry next year and stop acting like we're still in the late 90's :drama:
