February 25, 201015 yr Aaron and I concluded in a private discussion that the contest becomes pretty boring without any discussion - I believe Rich made this point when I proposed to scrap the odds thread for XIII when I hosted :lol: Nay, if the contest is to be remembered well as it deserves, there ought to be discussion :o I do recall saying that, and whilst it's definitely true that the forum empties out without some sort of discussion prompt, it would definitely be a more interesting final if we didn't have any odds/predictas etc...having said that, it's not like people dwell on the results for long after the final has ended, rather they jump straight into thinking about the next contest, so maybe it's preferable to have the discussion beforehand. I'm always a bit wary to hype/say that I love or dislike songs before the final though, because it can be damaging I think. I know people are quite capable of making their own musical opinions and decisions but if 15 people say that a song is awful, you're generally going to go in listening with a prejudice that it is indeed going to be awful, or why would there be such a consensus on it in the first place :lol:
