Over the last few weeks a few people including August Rigo have claimed to be working on material for Leona's 3rd album.

According to the ususally reliable Breakfast over on Popjustice the album could be released in November. Also claims the guy behind Girls CC's Echo is producing a few tracks as well.

If this is all indeed true, I think it's clear Leona won't have a great deal of involvement in this album like she did Echo as she is going to be tied up with the tour now for a few months.

I'm hoping we get an Echo standard album with more commerical tracks like OMH, Naked, Perfect Strangr etc. Gonna be interesting to see what's coming next. ^_^

So there is going to be a complete new album? Or is it just a re-release of Echo?

If it's the former then isn't it a bit too early? The eras would get blurred. I hope I Got You isn't going to be the last single from the Echo era <_<

I want to see Outta My Head released but I'd be too worried about it doing bad since I Got You only managed to peak at #14 but then it barely had any radio play and wasnt on TV much, I only saw it a few times before the release but ever since its been on loads!

Didn't it go top 6 on airplay.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a "third album" thread before now, as there have been a few reports cropping up over the last few weeks. It's probably the best thing for the US; she's had literally one of the worst "sophomore slumps" in history. I still think "Outta My Head" should be released though, even if it's not the strongest album cut (in my opinion). It'll show a little diversity which is seriously needed now. All I keep hearing is "Leona just sings boring ballads", you know? I think the label are now aware of this, or at least I would hope they are (even though they should've been aware before the beginning of the "Echo" era).

Exaggeration much? She's sold more than some artists sell in their home country and she did that without a hit single. Artists like Jordin Sparks did much worse and that was in her home country with a top 10 hit that radio embraced.

Happy is not considered a hit single?

I'm a huge Leona fan, so no it's not an exaggeration. I'm not trying to hate on the girl, I loved "Echo", but it's a fact. It was officially one of the biggest drops in sales from a successful debut album in US history.

And no, "Happy" would not be considered a hit in the US. It flopped hard.

Not in the US, which is what we were talking about.

Being a huge Leona fan doesn't mean your exaggerations are accurate. Do you have some source that claims this is a fact?

I didn't mean to appear defensive, but Leona fans can be crazy at times and are easily offended. I remember reading an article on Billboard a few months ago, but can't seem to locate it. It listed the likes of Craig David and a few other artists who have suffered the dreaded "sophomore slump".

Craig David is a good example. Had a huge, platinum (around 1,000,000 sales in the US) selling debut album, but "Slicker Than Your Average" only managed to be certified gold. That was considered an absolute failure, and that was 2002. His singles were epic flops as well. "Echo" has barely sold 200,000 copies, if that, while "Spirit" managed to scan 200,000 in her first week. Yes, "Spirit" followed a major hit, but whichever angle you look at this "Echo" has just been an epic flop stateside. I can't see "Echo" even being certified gold, which is a great shame.

Tbh I've kind of been underwhelmed by the whole Echo rea, so hopefully she'll come back with another worldwide smash like Spirit.

I agree that the Echo era hasn't done well...Happy did 'ok', I got you seems to flop..the album itself sold 1m+ worldwide..

Weird as Echo is a solid album and imo better then Spirit..! What went wrong?

-BL was massive...Happy is a nice tune..but a lot weaker and it didn't show progression..Save choise, most people couldn't be bothered. Outta my head would at least surprised people.

-Spirit had the BL and X-factor hype, Echo didn't.

-Her image..she needs killer singles now, not 'okish' songs..

I really hope they haven't given the Echo era up yet. Release OOMH with a great video..If that doesn't work move on with the next album..

I totally agree about "Echo" being a strong record than "Spirit". It's more creative, and has a more natural sound that Leona wanted. We got to hear Leona actually developing as an artist. Now, I would much prefer her to cater to the pop leaning R&B music (i.e. "Can't Breathe", which is just phenomenal) as her voice suites that style, but as a fan I totally respect that she's trying to escape the "manufactured" label. That's great, it's just a shame the album wasn't following an utter smash ala "Bleeding Love". Plus, her debut record was marketed really well; they had the whole "The wait is over..." kind of promo.

Unfortunately "Happy" was an absolute failure. In the UK, it is definitely considered a hit single (reaching #2 and all), but it's not the hit she needed. I personally think they should just go ahead and release "Outta My Head" and just close this era. I mean, wasn't a video filmed for "Outta My Head" a little while ago? If so then they won't have much to lose. She needs to return to the studio, and converse with her label so they can make the right decisions and come back harder next era. I seriously would hate to see her fade into obscurity, but I'm hopeful that won't happen.

Hmm...Might have, I barely heard it though, I heard it about 4 times before the release and I listen to the radio every day, It was probably on when I wasn't listening a lot

Leona better have the Timbaland track produced for Echo on this album.

It's a shame so many tracks leaked, there are a few that could easily have been on a new album.

Scene Of The Crime is seriously smash lead single material :(

I know, it is AMAZING. I hope it will still have a chance to be on the next album or an Echo rerelease. Whoever thought Happy was the best choice for 1st single when they had songs like that needs a good slap.

Scene of the Crime and How Everything You Are are incredible, and they need to be on the new album, or the re-release of Echo.
"Scene of the Crime" is literally one of the best songs she's ever recorded. If this was recorded between "Spirit" & "Echo", I'm honestly clueless as to why it was left of the last album. Seriously, it's such a strong track.

Probably my favourite song of the leaked it hink its just the purity of it!

all the leaked songs are quite amaizng! some of them could have been better suited on echo than some of the original album tracks! (: Leona shows that she is versitile with scene of the crime and this song and oobv outta my head (: x
