It’s more new people downloading rather than streaming that gets me. Would have thought the market was mainly those who used to download whilst it was the most popular format.

I know sales aren’t high on iTunes now, but still baffles me who at this point is only now downloading wham, Pogues and Mariah.

I am loving the version featuring Toni Braxton right now. So nice to hear this kind of R&B doing well.

Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band ‘Sing’ EP is the last I can recall which reached #1, though that was a charity release so a bit different. Also had 7 tracks.

I make that 8/12 tracks from The Art Of Loving top 40. Can’t imagine there are many other examples for this kind, of an album dominating the charts outside of a release week. Also yes to Raye climbing still.

No doubt Kelly Clarkson being the second song on Spotify’s biggest Christmas playlist has helped. If only One More Sleep had better playlist positioning to benefit too, but it is way down at #65. 😭

Just seen it, looks glorious! Glad Sony also added on the Echo era b-sides, US exclusives and I See You for the vinyl. Shame we don’t have most of those on streaming, downloadable or a cd version still.

What a moment for the charts. Never would have predicted seeing Bjork in the uk top 40 again, even if just as a feature.

The quiet period for big releases begins…

It is showing up for me as well now, so they must have resolved whatever issue they had making it unavailable for a period.

Looks like I Run is not available on Spotify anymore (UK at least) and guessing it is the same on the other platforms. Suspected something fishy was going on for this song to blow up so quick globally with no prior releases by the artist.
