To be fair, her last era didn’t have your standard release schedule with a focus on releasing tracks in order for the film. Prelude and Something Beautiful were not the most commercial songs to start an era with and was then a battle to get people on board with the follow ups. This sounds super commercial and seems to be getting a big push, so expect it to do well. Maybe more Midnight Sky success instead of Flowers, but would be surprised if it isn’t a long running hit.

Can’t say for sure, but I think it is YouTube. 9 to 5 is doing much better than Jolene on that platform (according to kworb)- likely in part due to 9 to 5 having a music video which Jolene does not.
  3. I think people are writing Jolene off too quickly. It is starting the week in a strong position compared to the other contenders now Rein Me In is on ACR. If Jolene is #1 in the first look charts, I expect that would drum up publicity which should help sustain it a bit longer.

Wiki suggest label politics are the reason with Sony owning the rights and also oversee Dolly’s catalogue, while Kenny’s album was Sony but is now (bar IITS) licensed by his own label with Capitol.
  5. Considering how late the news was in the UK, those are impressive numbers. Definitely feeling optimistic we could see multiple Dolly tracks charting on Friday.
  6. I wish the OCC would relax their 3 track cap as it is so frustrating in cases like this that songs people are connecting with don’t get a chance to chart. Such an iconic artist so I am glad she is getting a lot of love. Wouldn’t be surprised based on the Apple performance so far if we do see some Dolly make the top 40 on Friday, given the low sales climate we’re currently in.
  7. While I am sad Animal hasn't made top 10, I low key love that their last 3 (lead) singles have peaked 16 - 14 - 12. Maybe Hootie Frootie will eventually get that #10 spot another week and continue the trend.
  8. Jamaican (Bam Bam) is such an earworm! Addicted to this right now.
  9. Don’t know how they missed Bang Bang, but we know that passed 4 x platinum earlier this year, so safe to say it is #3.
  10. The lack of female representation (besides Kyla) is striking. Starboy - the one 10/10 for me. Was obsessed with it when it came out and still love it now. Sunflower - my second favourite Post song after Circles. 9/10 Blinding Lights - a great song but not even the best song on its own album #justiceforInYourEyes 8/10 Shape Of You - still very catchy 8/10 Someone You Loved - the better of the two slow/ballad songs on the list 7.5/10 Perfect - Beyoncé duet benefited this 7/10 As It Was - never understood the hype for this but I do like it. 6/10 One Dance - has aged well and like it more than I did on release 6/10 Sweater Weather - so low purely because it is the only one i can’t recall without listening to it. Not bad, but not very memorable. I understand this the USA’s Mr Brightside as the song that never leaves the Spotify chart, so imagine this would be much lower if just UK. 4/10 Stay - can’t stand The Kid Laroi’s voice and the shouting which spoils this for me. Production is the only saving grace but not enough to give this more than a 3/10.
  11. Ultra Nate charting almost 30 years after her peak was definitely not on my 2026 bingo card, let alone getting another top 10 hit.
  12. This Alyssa grace is unlistenable to me. Sounds like she is having the hiccups or trying to yodel throughout. So glad Camera made it in after the last two singles didn’t do enough to break top 40.
  13. Robyn only now getting her fourth week top 40 with DOMO is criminal.

Some great certifications already announced. CMAT, Britney and Spice Girls all in the same week.

Love that we are looking at a chart battle for the first time in a while. Rooting for Shakira, as unlikely she will have another chance. Also not convinced this is Sam’s last chance to get that extra week at #1. Ariana is certainly not guaranteed to bag it next week.
