Posted March 26, 201015 yr The Sugababes’ American Dream has suddenly turned into a nightmare... Mega rapper Jay-Z has quietly dropped them from his influential Roc-A-Fella label. And, in an astonishing twist, he is in talks to sign up Keisha Buchanan – who was booted out of the group last September. The Sugababes, once Britain’s biggest girlband, recently revamped their line-up, replacing Keisha, 25, with Jade Ewen, 21. Clearly, it hasn’t done the trick. The Sugas – Jade, Heidi Range, 26, and Amelle Berrabah, 25 – have been removed from Roc-A-Fella’s artist roster and company website. And word has it they are being referred to as “former clients”. The band reportedly signed a three-album deal with Roc-A-Fella last year. At the time Jade gushed: “It’s going to be wicked to do a collaboration with him.. I’m going to focus on this opportunity.” Despite making a big fuss about working with Jay-Z, a spokesman for the group yesterday denied they had even signed for his label. Which leaves us scratching our heads. Still, at least Keisha has something to smile about. A friend of hers tells us: “Keisha is flying out to LA this week to record her solo album. “Jay is serious about getting her on board. They hit it off at the Brits afterparty in London. “Keisha will be gutted that things have not worked out so well for the band she helped create.” To rub salt in the wound, Sugababes’ new album, Sweet 7, charted at No.14 last week. It fell to No.37 yesterday and could crash out of the Top 40 altogether by Sunday. Oops. http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/news/2010/0...15875-22139253/ OMG this just keeps getting worse and worse for the splendababes isn't it. My fave bit is "Keisha will be gutted that things have not worked out so well for the band she helped create.” LOL I'm sure she's soooo gutted. I think it's become clear that Keisha Buchanan should not be f***ed with because it will NOT end well. Edited March 26, 201015 yr by shakilover
March 26, 201015 yr Lol, well then Keisha will go for the americanized music. I don't think she will have succes anyway (the Sugababes wouldn't have US succes as well), so it don't really matter.
March 26, 201015 yr I want her back with the Sugababes :(Â I think they Sugababes are about to call it a day. Not because they get dropped but because they're fed up.
March 26, 201015 yr :w00t: I knew it! It's clear that Jay-Z signed 3.0 for Keisha's drive and ambition and not the managements 3 dolls. You get that solo deal girl! I can't see Keisha not writing everything now she's flyin solo, she wrote most of C&S after all.  Here's hoping she meets Jay-Z and gets him to sign 1.0. Jay-z wouldnt wanna get 'The eye' now would he. :heehee:
March 26, 201015 yr Woo, congratulations to Keisha, not good for the Sugas but I expected them to do bad.
March 26, 201015 yr This means she's going to get sweet 7 part two. Also proves she has always wanted to go down this route, so means she probably loved Sweet 7 and makes me think that she probably was the main driving force behind the direction they went with Sweet 7.  But good luck to her I hope her solo stuff is great. I also want 4.0 to go and work on a new album and ne sound Edited March 26, 201015 yr by ms09
March 26, 201015 yr Excellent for her, not so much for the Babes  :(Â Keisha devastated as Sweet 7 flopping? Hmm....yeah...erm..no?
March 26, 201015 yr Keisha devastated as Sweet 7 flopping? Hmm....yeah...erm..no? In terms of her being the drive behind it I'm sure she'd be a little gutted the songs (not the babes) didn't perform as well as they could have In terms of her getting fired due to the other 2 quitting, I'm sure she loves it
March 26, 201015 yr I'm not too surprised. It seemed quite obvious that Jay-Z didn't seem to care about the current line-up that much.
