April 9, 201015 yr This is the most boring chart of the year so far... even April 1991 had more new entries. The chart needs a huge makeover, the days with 12 new entries plus per week is extinct as a dodo, I'm practically a dodo myself.

There may not be many new entries, but it's still not boring - there's a battle between Usher and GaGa for #2, Joshua Radin could be top 10, or could not, David Guetta could be top 15, Mumford & Sons could go top 30, Paramore and N-Dubz could pretty much land anywhere, and there are a few newies in the 41-50 area that could finish top 40. There's a lot there that we won't knowe about till Sunday - imo that's not my idea of 'the most boring chart of the year'!
April 9, 201015 yr Here's me hoping that it goes exactly the same way as last week Mind you HMV selling her album for £3.99 for the last 3 weeks has certainly paid off for her. I'm torn, Brother's my favourite album for months and months (and at the moment) but The Fame/Monster is incredible and my favourite album of maybe the last two years. It couldn't be a better top two in the album chart right now for me. I guess if Lungs climbed a couple of spots to join it in the top three, then it would be perfection
April 9, 201015 yr Thanks Dave 37 45 SENZA UNA DONNA - ZUCCHERO/PAUL YOUNG...it mean`t "Without A Woman". First recorded by the Italian without Paul, on the album version As a kid, i thought it was called Sing Some Madonna
April 10, 201015 yr Is 'The Cave' by Mumford & Sons only available on iTunes? I'm sure at one point last week it was as high as no. 21 yet in last Sundays chart it stalled at no. 32 and even on this chart it's still not cracked the top 30. Again, I saw the track around no. 23 on iTunes earlier in the week. Makes the mind boggle although there must be some explanation as to why this is happening.
April 10, 201015 yr The tracks below it (which end up higher) must have other versions/physicals charting You'd need to see a proper combined chart to know where M&S really are, and then you'd still have to add the physicals
April 10, 201015 yr did you moon ever get to number 1 in the dvd chart? please help someone i want to know!
April 10, 201015 yr did new moon ever get to number 1 in the dvd chart? please help someone i want to know! It did, in it's first week of release :) And good job it did, I'm still not over how "Twilight" only got to #2, behind Madagascar 2 Edited April 10, 201015 yr by bigzarafan

The chart needs a huge makeover, the days with 12 new entries plus per week is extinct as a dodo, I'm practically a dodo myself. i enjoy the charts as they are - songs move up, down and sideways lol - they may not be official new entries but thats because they are released to dload at various different times and so peak when they become truely popular which imo reflect what are the 'big' hits of the year - in the past it was all about marketing a song for week of release when it might have went top 10 in week one but within a month it was out of the top 40 having only sold less than 100k whereas now songs will hang around for ages or rise slowly to become the defining hits of the year - the ones that fall quicker reflect that they are popular initially but get boring rather quickly. i like the charts now - they reflect the truely popular songs of our times and the PR men have to be alot smarter to not only hit the top spot but to stay there for long enough!
April 10, 201015 yr And the winner of the Grand National tomorrow will be? Snowy Morning. You convinced me to bet on Snowy Morning, and now I'm £1,000,000 worse off :kink:
April 10, 201015 yr Author  You convinced me to bet on Snowy Morning, and now I'm £1,000,000 worse off :kink: Well never mind! At least it finished coming 6th. As the winner was Don`t Push It, which was clearly strange when you consider in the space of 20 minutes it went from 66-1 to 33-1 to 20-1 to 12-1 to 10-1favourite....I would say that there is something funny. I think one of those pay for phoneline bets, happened here. Set out to win, it happens in at least one race a week, if you follow racing & spend most of the week in the Bookies, like me! :teresa:
April 10, 201015 yr I remember the week well. It was a pretty good week weatherwise in Southern England. I believe Sounds also disappeared in April 1991. I used to enjoy their spoof on Piers Morgan, with a column called "Prize Moron"!! So many Music Papers gone now. It was in 1990, that Number One magazine was swallowed up by the BBC, which meant no one any longer printed the Network Top 75. Only a Top 50 via NME & Melody Maker. Record Mirror was the one I bought every week. Not sure which year it disappeared though.
