Like I said, I'm all for it. Once I'm back at work it'll probably have to be all the music I listen to, but the contest could definitely use a shake-up.

 

I think we should trial it as a spin-off at first, and if that works, do it in the regular contest (ala JESC -> ESC).

Indeed! Spin-off trial sounds acceptable for all! Too bad not every country might participate there. :( (Hence only two or three semis instead of planned four)

 

I don't think having BJSC in this format will put songs in semi 1/2 in disadvantage, i don't think they will be heavily played whilst other semis run.

 

Actually the Andra Chansen part excites me the most. :kink:

I'm looking into using the MF style of 4 semis and Andra Chansen for the next TBO.

 

 

I wanna get my exams done before i put proper thought into it, but i have a few ideas on how to address peoples concerns about being left out and making it a bit more exciting.

 

Last years ran smoothly, i was well prepared so the results were swift so i'm certainly going to be looking into ways we can make TBO more exciting, more involving and a bit more showy. It's a celebration of all the achievements of the past decade, all the amazing tracks that did and didn't win. A nice way to round off a decade by remembering the good the bad and the ear rape and crowning the best track.

TBO results will be so much better if using the MF style tbh! Andra Chansen is just made for unlucky songs a la 'Fear'!

 

And why do you think there won't be a revolution of some sort and mods will not be hosting the TBO/the mods family will be executed decrowned? :kink: :kink:

How could you say so many when there is still 40 countries who still participates.

 

The highest last year was 52 or 53 which I don't remember any of those that we lost (apart from JRK-off, M.K.L which they have a different reasons for quiting) , and I don't see loosing another 12 or 13 in 2011.

I like the idea of doing this for TBO (maybe Alcazar would have done better this way, they've always done well in of Andra Chansen :kink:) but I wish there was a way we could test it out before then...

Agreed. I'm not keen on the 4 semis idea, but I do like the idea of nicking the second chance round. It would only have to last 3 or so days, and there would only probably be 10-15 prospective DNQ's at this point, so hardly many songs to listen to. I say 12 from each semi + the host + the top five from second chance go into a final of 30. Would definitely stop people saying 'I was in the wrong semi', and if they still DNQ after failing in the semis and second chance, then obviously the song wasn't right for the final.

 

That said, I'm also very happy with the current format so wouldn't care at all if this wasn't implemented/other people were wildly against it.
