Get Up On The Dancefloor - #30

The winner of the second series of Britain's Got Talent, which I always thought was a awful and overhyped show myself. He admittedly was a very good dancer, so why he thought it would be a good idea to bring out a single was beyond me. Obviously it went over most of the public's heads though as it only managed to hit #30 here. He's also released his own DVD ... and that's about it really!

Everyone else gave him 2 or below!

George is going to be in the next series of Waterloo Road - playing a ladie's man

Nessun Dorma

Paul Potts was the first winner of Britain's Got Talent, one of those people you didn't expect to do good but has an amazing voice. Not really my cup of tea personally, but I guess he has a decent talent.

Beside You

The dad rock type from the third series of X Factor, who came third in the final. Again, not my cup of tea at all but he had a decent enough talent. Since coming third he's released two album, his debut 'Picture Of You' getting to #03 in the UK.

Bring It On // #05 (2003)

The runnerup in the second series of Fame Academy. He was pretty standard if you ask me, just a decent voice but nothing special. Since coming 2nd he scored two Top 20 hits in the UK and a Top 20 album within the UK.

Keep Me A Secret // #05 (2003)

Another Fame Academy contestant, was initially one of the favourites to win but came 4th. He had a Top 5 hit single with 'Keep Me A Secret' in the start of 2003 but then didn't even bother to release any other material! He was alright, but like Alistair just a bit boring.

The Circle (2006)

A brother duo from the second series of X Factor who came third in the final. They were pretty boring if you ask me and are now unheard of fortunately! They scored a #01 debut album in the UK with 'Journey South' and a follow up album, 'Home' in 2007 which made #43.

Like Me // #04 - Canada (2008)

My favourite act so far on the countdown, love them! They are the girlgroup made from PCD's talent show for a new girlgroup in the US. They haven't found much success, flopping pretty much everywhere except for Canada where they scored a Top 5 hit and a followup Top 20 hit as well as their debut album going #02 there.

Bohemian Rhapsody // #09 (2005)

Bleh, I absolutely detested them. :puke2: I found them so tedious, boring and overrated personally. They came 2nd in the first series of X Factor and have gone on to be much bigger than the winner (Steve Brookstein) of the show. They have since had a Top 10 hit with 'Bohemian Rhapsody' in 2005, a huge #01 debut album titled 'G4' with followup albums 'G4 & Friends' and 'Act Three' both going Top 20 in the UK.

When You Believe // #01 (2007)

Leon Jackson was the winner of the fourth series of X Factor but is hardly remembered that well. His winning single, a cover of Mariah Carey & Whitney Houston's 'When You Believe' hit #01 in 2007 and his followup single 'Don't Call This Love' hitting #03 in 2008. His debut album also went #04 in the UK. Followup singles have failed to chart and is now working on new material with writers who have collabrated with Paolo Nutini and James Morrison. Sounds thrilling.

I have Ben Mills 09? That had to be a major type surely? Though I did kinda like Beside You and he is my favourite so far.

Predictable enough results so far. I liked Ainslie Henderson at the time, but I was never that bothered with any of these acts tbh.

Palladio // #39 (2009)

Escala are a violin group who reached the final of the second series of Britain's Got Talent. They are very talented but I wouldn't listen to them out of choice really. Since reaching the final they scored a Top 40 hit with 'Palladio' and a #02 album with their debut 'Escala' which has now been certified gold.

40-31 coming tomorrow! :D

Not really any suprises so far.

I do kinda like Ainsle, Alistar and Leon. but they are not great.

I really like Girlicious though, probs my fave so far...

That Ainslie song actually sounds quite good. Even today LOL :o

Journey South. They were always my favourite in that series, although I don't think I'd have liked it if they won over Shayne now LOL. I bought their album ( ) It was alright. I love their cover of 'Let It Be' though...

All Or Nothing // #04 (2001)

O-Town are the winners of the first series of MTV's Making The Band, which is one of the first musical Reality TV shows I think?! Well of recent times anyway. They started off as a pretty big success in 2001 when they scored themselves two Top 5 hits in the UK and a huge Top 3 hit in the US as well as selling over three million copies of their debut album, 'O-Town' worldwide. Since then they have pretty much faded into obscurity as their sophomore effort failed to chart in the UK in 2002 and only made #28 in the US. I don't know too much about them but I do have a soft spot for 'All Or Nothing'.

Stop Living The Lie // #01 (2003)

David Sneddon won the first series of BBC's Fame Academy against Sinead Quinn (who should've won imo! -_-). He was decent enough but essentially, just really boring- even his name is boring! He had a cute face though, I'll give him that much. His winning single, 'Stop Living The Lie' shot straight to #01 and his followup single 'Don't Let Go' gave him a further Top 3 hit in the UK too. His album also went Top 5 here too but only managed to sell 100,000 copies worldwide .... ouch.

Lemar should have probably won Fame Academy over both David Sneddon and Sinead Quinn :heehee:

some better acts there, I love Escala! Ben was favourite ahead of Leona for some of that series, thank goodness he didn't win in the end!

O Town  'All Or Nothing' is one of my fave Boy Band singles! Brilliant. 'Stop Living The Lie' is pretty great too considering he wrote it himself. But yeah, other than that, BLEH. LOL at the "100,000 copies worldwide" thing
I thought Stop Living The Lie was DIRE. I preferred the second single Don't Let Go, it had much better production. Still disliked him though, my sister was obsessed so sadly I know every track on that album far too well.

So mostly all male contestnats so far and hardly any females. :D

It's blatantly obvious who has won this. I'll be interested to see who finished 2nd. :D

The Time Of My Life // #03 US - #61 UK (2009)

David Cook was the winner of the seventh series of American Idol. He got a Top 3 hit with his winning single 'The Time Of My Life' as well as a Top 3 debut album, 'David Cook'. Since then he has gone on to have a Top 20 hit in the US with 'Light On' and two further Top 100 hits including his most recent, 'Permanent' which made #24 in the US.
