I got a question to ask, you see when you try to enter a contest (after 6 months of course), how many songs do you submit to the contest's host and how does it work when the mods need to review them (like in what way does it need to be reviewed)? Is there some certain songs (apart from the rules mentioned of Glee, Eurovision Songs, solo singer from bands) not allowed and hence a mod would disqualify it from entering?

Sorry, I never replied to your PM. All the rules can be seen here. We basically will rule out a song if it seems too "cheap", for example if it is on the release schedule or is popular on Buzzjack. I don't think we have a rule about solo acts from bands, the Alcazar thing I talked about ebfore might have confused you. It's only if an act, or members of an act, were in the top 3 of the last contest. Hope that helps :)

May I ask, how is a song be classified too "cheap" and what does it mean if it's on release schedule? Cheap as in too cheesy..? (Sorry for all these questions, needed to ask to make sure I don't submit wrong song choices in the future :P )

Cheap as in it's likely that most people would find out about and love the song without the contest :P So stuff like Love The Way You Lie, or a Lady Gaga track.

It's not necessarily gonna be banned if it on the release sched - for example we had SoundGirl last contest (though I shocked - that was an incredibly cheap). But just try and make choices of songs that you've not heard banded about on BJ, so not many will have heard of it.

Nobody submits 2 songs to the host. You may have seen people discussing songs that they were thinking of sending, since we aren't allowed to confirm what we've sent until the contest officially begins. But each country only submits one song to the host (unless of course it goes against the rules or is deemed too cheap, in which case they are asked to enter another).
