Simon Cowell is set to take X Factor to the US.

It is scheduled to premier in September 2011.

With Simon Cowell being a judge and executive producer.

Simon Cowell is the only judge confirmed for the show so far, however recent rumours have strongly indicated his former colleague on American Idol, Paula Abdul, is one of the front-runners to join him on the judging panel. She along with Cheryl Cole from the British version are speculated to become judges of the American version.

British X Factor host Dermot O'Leary is in the running to become the American host. This is the worst decision Simon could make to bring this idiot in. (He won't last 2 minutes over there, many people wouldn't even be able to understand him anyway). Dermot O'DREARY isn't a patch on Ryan Seacrest and a good strong host like Ryan is needed.

Dermot O'Dreary is too childish a presenter with about as much personality as a broken egg :puke2: . Many even wish he would go from the UK show.

Former Sony music executive Tommy Mottola could replace Simon Cowell as a judge on American Idol (for what could be its final season) and join him on the judging panel for the US version of The X Factor.

I don't understand why Simon is actually releasing the X Factor in the US when American Idol is such a success.

It's essentially the same show with a few tweeks and a different title.

Probably because if it works out, he gets all the money from it, whereas with American Idol he doesn't!

Fox are broadcasting both shows, so it's huge ratings for them and it's gonna f*** up the 2011 fall schedule no end
Fox are showing BOTH shows? What the hell? They're competing with themselves -_-

Yup, they air at different times of the year and AI is a HUGE ratings winner for Fox.

Good ratings = more advertising cash

I think Dermot is FAR superior to Ryan,

I really can't stand Ryan, he is soposed to be a Presenter yet he is always trying to give his opinion like a Judge.

I prefer Ryan myself. I liked Dermot on Big Brother's Little Brother, but on the X-Factor he's pretty.. meh. At least Ryan shows some personality.

I wonder who the other judges will be. Wouldn't really make sense having an all English show. (So far Simon, Cheryl & Dermot. Who'll be next, Louis?)

The latest news is that it's not a done deal that Cheryl will be a judge, Louis is also in the frame but Simon says there is only room for one of them.

American producers are a little scared of Cheryl's Geordie accent and that the yanks may not be able to tell what she says.

I say what about Louis' Irish accent, it's so deep even the English can't always tell what he says.

I hope the job goes to Cheryl

Personally he should take the whole lot of them over there so we don't have to put up with them anymore :heehee:

I struggle to see how it's going to work though alongsider our own version? If FOX is going to air both XF and AI then surely they'd air XF in September - December time as AI has been a constant performer in the Spring...

I always assumed XF would replace AI but I guess FOX don't want to risk it bombing and losing the massive cash cow they have at their disposal.

Louis' accent is no problem at all ... I understand every syllable of the $h!te he talks. And ... even though he does talk bollocks ... I reckon he'd be more popular with a US audience than Cheryl. I'm probably one of the few people on this board (of my age) that actually likes her ... but I think in the US ... Louis would be more of a winner.

As much as I am not a Cheryl Cole fan bringing Louie Walsh in over her would be an unwise move.

Also I don't think bringing Cheryl Cole in is a good idea either why not get a similar US star who is relevant to the audience.

As for American Idol that show is done. The only reason it is on next year is that Fox need something on there schedules for the first half of the year. If X Factor becomes big they won't need it anymore.
