It is all over Twitter and yeh you guessed it The Sun is running it. She won't give it to charity she is from Rochdale she will pocket it.

Why this story has even got so big is beyond me.

Because the Murdoch press is thrilled to have been handed tomorrows front page without even having to try! :)

Labour support is already very low so they MAY not lose that much as a result of this. If they do, there's no reason to assume it will go to the Tories.

Ha The Sun interviewed Gillian this evening but dropped it becaused it wasn't "sufficiently interesting".

Guess she didn't give them the quotes they needed :D

Ok, first things first: Can anyone really try and say that Mr Cameron and Mr Clegg have NEVER said such a thing as an offhand comment after meeting a voter? NO. If this simple fact was spread around I can't think of any sane person who would defect from Labour to the Tories/Lib Dems because of this, so what he called her bigoted? She probably was.

Prescott hit the nail on the head, the Murdochs are just hitting new lows now with the way they'll inevitably give this story blanket coverage. Shameful, thankfully we've got a debate tomorrow which leaves little room for digging into Gordon about this and instead concentrates on one of the principal reasons Labour should be winning this election - economic policies, whether it's the Tories' suidical plans or the Lib Dems' plans on how to spend money we don't have.

We're running a mock election in school and the candidates for all six parties running (the three majors, Respect, UKIP and the Communists, oddly) spoke in an assembly today. Even though I'm working on the design department for Labour I couldn't help but laugh at the Respect candidate's main line:

"Do you want to vote for Labour, who were soft on the bankers, or the Conservatives who ARE the bankers?"

Funny you should mention that with the economic debate tomorrow. That could be something that could go against Cameron as he was directly involved with just that.

Labour may have buggered up but the Tory economic plans are frighteningly ridiculous tbh.

Oh well who who won the business debate vote on the BBC Working Lunch show on Tuesday between the four (the SNP were pathetically allowed in until they lost their case today) party representatives?

Answer: Kenneth Clarke (Conservative).

Still I guess you know more about Business & Economics, than the likes of such leading figues as Sir Stuart Rose, executive chairman of Marks & Spencer, Justin King, chief executive of Sainsbury (a long time Labour Party donor!), and Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of easyGroup (another Labour Party donor), gives a timely boost to the Tories’ credibility on the economy under David Cameron.

Nine of the 23 signatories to the letter run FTSE 100 companies and a further five are in the FTSE 250. Between them they employ more than 500,000 people.

Whilst two of the businessmen - Sir Stuart and Paul Walsh, chief executive of Diageo - are on the Prime Minister’s Business Council.

Other notable signatories include Sir Anthony Bamford, chairman of JCB; Sir Christopher Gent, chairman of GlaxoSmithKline; Simon Wolfson, chief executive of Next, and Lord Harris, the chairman and chief executive of Carpetright.

Well if those Business leaders support the Conservatives plans as do a significant number of UK & International Economic leaders, then I guess you should question your logic.

What is not in doubt is if the Labour business model carries on as it, without cuts required to the Public sector then the UK PLC will go bankrupt like Greece.

I expect Labour supporter and PR Guru (and hater of Tony Blair & friend of Gordon Brown) Max Clifford had a word with her.

The first time they let Gordon out without his Mrs, and he puts his foot in it. Now we know why his wife has been with him in all previous walkabouts.

That's never stopped them before. They just make up the quotes they want.

"Gillian told The Sun that Gordon Brown ordered her to go out and find a baby, boil it and serve it to him with potatoes roasted in the baby's fat"

They are cutting... just less savagely than the Tories. Have you noticed how the Conservatives have promised not to make NHS cuts but make no such pledges on education? A few billion cut here, a few there, won't hurt little Barnaby in his spiffing £10,000 a year private school so they don't give a $h!t. Makes me sick, I go to a grammar school but it's state-run and works as well as any because of it. And the only thing deciding whether you get in is the entrance exam, and there's a great comprehensive up the road that gets results not far off ours. How it should be, but not how the Tories want.

All this big brother CCTV cameras everywhere, and snooping in on our emails and what we browse on the web has Gordon been caught by the very things he is bringing in.

David Sainsbury is a long term Labour donor. I'm not sure Justin is.

Nothing against you but I HATE this paranoid attitiude. There's a reason why crime has dropped by 30%, you know.

When I was a Councillor and spoke against CCTV I was criticised by both Labour and Tory Councillors. The most extreme comments came from a Tory who questioned my right to dare to question whether it was an infringement of basic rights.

tbh him calling a biggot a biggot doesn't detract from his policies and his ability to lead the country - imo :o.

Not a paranoid attitude at all, this Government has a big brother vision, we are the most watched Country on the planet. Anyway it was meant as humour when someone is caught by the very things they introduce.

Er, of course the business leaders are going to back the Tories, given they're promoting policies which will benefit them in the short term :/

Labour haven't stated they will go on without cuts. They've stated that the cuts they make (and the tax rises) will come in 2011, hence not risking a double dip recession by destroying Aggregate Demand at a time when it is fairly weak.

Exactly, it's such a weak argument citing business leaders' views, because they clearly have a vested interest. More relevant is the opinion of ECONOMISTS, many of whom have backed Labour's plans over the Tories'.

Very saddened that the Tories might get back into power - does everybody forget the 80's?

Hi, I'm David Cameron - I'm well posh and want to give all my posh mates an easier life, let's get rid of all these non-white people living in our country, as for Europe - pah! - we are too superior to be part of that - let's not get involved so that our singular opinion will have no influence in a few years time, global warming doesn't exist so why worry about it, and as for those gays, as I said in 2001 - give them no rights and ban them from marrying. The BBC is rubbish - let's get rid of that too.

And to all those stupid working class people that vote for me - little do they know that I'll increase their taxes when they elect me in - don't worry though as I'll give tax breaks to my rich friends to balance it out.

Rah Rah rah......

A vote for Conservatives is a vote for doom
