Last week was the best overall week in a while - thankfully.

Massods really are just fabulous. Cannot wait for tomorrows ep!

Wow :o the $h!t did hit the fan

That was great drama between the Massods, great episode.

Preeya Kalidas was brilliant. Very fitting use of Julia's Theme for the departure of Amira.

Now please get the monstrous Christian off my screen for good...

I loved the episode tonight... EXCEPT for the way Christian handled the whole thing, I found his character's emotional reactions really unbelievable, especially the way he wanted to rub the message in with Amira.
Brilliant episode the only thing that let it down was Christian's $h!t acting and general grasp of emotions.

it was a strong episode and quite well written and i was half expecting simon ashdown to be the writer but it was good to see it was a different writer. The only thing i was slightly disapointed by was the weakness of amira for the first 20 minutes and the way she begged syed to stay. I liked her last 10 minutes better where she came accros stornger and i loved they in a way gave her the last laugh by leaving being pregnant.

The episode was well handled, it was like 2 reveals in one night with the storyline as first it was amira, then they let it lie and then done the reveal to everyone, i thought was cleverly done as i was glued to see when it would fully explode.

Mixed in that was the Chelsea, denise, lucas and libby stuff which was also enjoyable.

Im sure that was one of diedrick santers last episodes and if that was the last one it was a good way to bow out fully.

A fantastic episode - Preeya was excellent as expected.

I do like John but god I did cringe a few times when he was "acting".

Very pleased Amira got Julias theme .

The episode was good, but after such a build-up I expected MUCH more. I have never rated Amira's acting ability and tonight it was blatantly obvious she wasn't capable. Similarly with Christian. I expected much more than going hysterical for (at that point) pretty much no reason.

The Masoods are my favourite family now though I think. I love that I was right about Chelsea and Amira's baby mix-up even without reading spoilers ^_^

Wonderful episode, which proves just how essential the Masoods have become to the show now.

I really felt for Amira to be honest, utter desperations; after all she wasn't just losing her husband, she was losing her entire life. "I'm now damaged goods. I will be my father's unpaid servant." That was pretty heartbreaking - her life utterly destroyed.

Christian, oh dear oh dear. Previously I had been feeling for him in the whole mess, but God he was incredibly selfish today, to the point of monstrousness. That was a time to slowly back off and give Syed some space. Had he left Syed alone to sort it out with Amira, he'd have probably ended up with Syed to himself a few days later. But because of the way he carried on and forced everyone's hand, he's ruined EVERYONE.

And it does have to be said, poor John Partridge isn't great at playing mush.

whilst i dont disagree with what you say....i simply didnt care, true the acting and script was pretty much as good as it could get, but i guess my problem with the characters on eastenders is that i simply dont like them, i wouldnt have them as my m8s, i wouldnt chose conversation with them. (unlike the characters in my favoured soap).

the thing we found abit daft... why would syed destroy amiras life and that of his family if he wasnt going to go the whole hog and end up with christian? all that upset for nothing? ive been through divorce, i can relate to the turmoil - which path shall i chose?, if you are going to cause so much upset...then there HAS to be a result, otherwise its all for nothing. so the conclusion imho didnt make sense.

See I actually found Amira for one to be quite likable, and even despite this week Masood aswell. Zainab isn't COMPLETELY likeable as a person, but still thoroughly entertaining.

The way I read Syed's reaction was that he really WASN'T ready for the truth to come out, no matter what he'd previously told Christian. He'd still been clinging onto the hope that he could carry on the way he was, leading a double life where his wife and family were none the wiser. I'm not sure he ever really had the intention at that point of going the whole hog with Christian.

And so when Christian forced the whole situation to come to a head in the most horrible way possible, Syed was not in any mood to exchange hugs and kisses from him. I imagine he's also for the first time REALLY feeling the guilt after seeing Amira crumble to pieces. And so Syed did what he'd done in the past (remember he was estranged from his family for ages when he did a bunk after losing his father's money), and ran.

Yes, precisely. To be honest Rob if you didn't feel for Amira and find her likeable in this whole storyline I don't know what EastEnders could do to make you 'care' because it's rare for a character to be so amiable as her. When you can't even praise an episode like last night's without a but I still don't care! disclaimer I think it's very apparent there's no point in you watching - unless of course you do care which is why you watched and then came to comment. Just an inkling.

Im rather gutted Amira's gone to be honest - I think she's really become a great addition these past few months. Last night's episode was rather brilliant most of the time, acting by John aside at points of course.
So Amira pregnant after all. :o Wow! I just hope she come backs for one episode. For another invention with Syed with their baby in tow. That would be some great Enders drama. :)

its called being objective. generally i like soaps, generally i keep my eye on all of them because all from time to time get great storylines that grip you. i accept that fans really liked this storyline, it was interesting, but tbh i havnt known amira long enough to like/dislike her character. eastenders is often on whilst we cook, or to 'fill' between other favoured programmes, it does capture us sometimes but more often then not recently it doesnt.

whats with that guy with the speech impediment? who tf thinks HE makes for good viewing?

Amira's been on screen for pretty much a year, which I'd say IS adequate time to be honest.

If the guy with the speech impediment you're referring to is Fatboy, then amen, I'm definitely with you on that. He and Leon need a good AXING pronto.

I do LOVE Dot once shes gets going!

"I aint one for idle talk as you'll find out.... it's Zainab I feel sorry for, you know Mrs Masmood!"

Fabulous.

but i dont watch it very often, and often its just background noise, so i hardly know her... i thought highlighting her predicament was good, but the actors left me cold so i personally wasnt moved by it. i feel more for corries tyrone who is on course for disaster.

there may well be youths who talk like fatboy, i detest them, ok eastenders probably should have characters like that in it as i suspect the real eastend does, but it doesnt make for pleasant viewing.
