Once again EastEnders blew the other soaps away.

30 mins of action packed,Edge of the seat drama

The explosion was brilliant and i think everyone involved deserves a pat on the back for that.

Tommorow sees the end to Peggy and it's a 40 min special 8:00pm-8:40pm and sees her bow out with a special Peggy Julias Theme follwed by a BBC1 20min Peggy special at 8:40pm

I'm going to have to BBCiplayer it, but it's not the same :(

So am I!

Im Sky+ing though. :D

Well that was simply OUTSTANDING. It was half an hour of complete SILLINESS and I loved every minute.

Babs was overacting as usual, but in this one episode it actually TOTALLY worked in this OTT episode. "LET IT BURN!.....LET IT BUUUUUUUUUURRRN!" Now immortal lines.

Steve McFadden on the other hand was wonderful.

I loved the utter chaos of everyone trying to get out - Syed getting knocked down and Zainab going back for him; Bianca (and well everyone) screeching, Jean rocking in the foetal position, Vanessa going completely bonkers, Billy actually standing up and being a man for once, Dot dancing drunkenly by herself and then dancing drunkenly across the Square to phone 999 - all fabulous.

ONLY downside - why the hell did they not take the opportunity to cut a bit of the departing deadwood?! Big, fancy explosions, and NO deaths? What a CHEAT

I have a horrible feeling that after that Peggy's actual exit is going to very much be an anti-climax.

How the hell is she leaving now then? What's the bet that it's in a back of a cab?

I can imagine at the end of tomorrow's episode at her looking at the screen and saying "Goodbye Walford, I have done my bit" (Que Peggy's Theme). Then she walks away in her white suit and the end everything fades into white. :D

It was afantastic episode and a right thriller but Babas over acted as it at times it was hard to know what she was saying. The mayhem in all the scnes was brilliantly done and the choaos that went with it and Steve McFadden was yet again fantastic.

Im looking forward to tomorrows nights episode to see how Peggy departs as i was sure she would die in the fire, i was so sure i half expected her to run back into the burning vic.

It was an amazing ep
From what I can gather

it is in the back of a cab. Peggy also tells Stacey to take the blame because the sentence for arson will be less than murder. LOL.

I'm watching it again, and in the cold light of day, it remains a fantastic episode. I missed QUEEN TRACY first time around, saving all the random extras!

LUNATIC Peggy screeching incoherently throughout becomes more of a delight with each viewing!

I rewatched it today - I think the best part is how Ronnie spends the majority of the episode looking COMPLETLEY GOURMLESS wherever she is. Fabulous.

Ronnie spent half of the episode looking bored. The scene when they're all trying to break back into the pub to get Phil, and Roxy is screeching at Ronnie to help, and Ronnie just stands there with her arms folded nonchalantly saying "Can't!" - brilliance!
Oh I know, SENSATIONAL. And Glenda wandering in from nowhere and noone noticing is just brilliance.

Glenda was a total WTF moment - I'm guessing she must have something to do with Peggy's departure tonight, otherwise why bring her back there and then?

But yes, her customary complete failure to react to anything around her just added to the general silliness and gloriousness of the whole thing!

I just re-watched it too and am happy to say it remains every bit as fantastic.

I noticed a few bits I didn't first time round - namely somebody (Pat I think) casually shouting "Stacey, we'll come back for ya love!" after Lily had been rescued, as if they were just popping to the shops or something. Amazing! Also I noticed more of the Zainab and Vanessa stuff. Who knew Zoe Lucker was skilled in the art of the banshee shriek?!

Just fabulous. Babs didn't sound human screetching 'let it buuurn!' at the end there though!

CONTINUITY FLAW: The whole reason Lily was upstairs in the Vic was because Sam said to Stacey in Tuesday's ep about her baby, "he's asleep upstairs, put her up there too if you like". WHY, therefore, in last nights episode was Sams baby NOT upstairs, and was infact with Jack?! Discuss.
I'm assuming Sam took the baby with her when she and Roxy snuck out of the Vic earlier in the episode?

This was my first thought too, however, at every moment from the beginning to the fire, something was going on in the hall, be it Stacey vs Peggy or Peggy vs Phil.

Actually you're right. Oh well, maybe this will be Friday's episode - Sam wakes up in the morning and remembers she left her baby in the fire!
