Surely there's a recast coming then? I just can't imagine a character like Lucy not being around. Shame, when MS was on-form she was ok.

Great is overstating it a little. She was acceptable with the pregnancy storyline, utterly useless with everything else.

Oh come on, 'acceptable'? She's versatile and likeable despite playing a horrible backstabber of a character. Sometimes she's a little hammy but more often than not she manages to raise my enjoyment of a scene and on top of that she's actually genuinely believable as Ian's daughter because her acting technique is quite similar to Adam Woodyatt's.

 

And the pregnancy storyline wasn't her finest moment - Lucy's always at her best when she's being Cindy's daughter rather than a wet-eyed, 'scared' little girl going around clutching her stomach. With somebody like Lauren it's easy enough to imagine a re-cast. I really can't with Lucy which indicates to me that she's made her mark as a good actress.

Oh you can't really believe that? Lucy is at her WORST when she's trying to be a bitch. It's all very try-hard and completely unconvincing.

Not as a bitch but as a schemer. I love her stuff with Ian when she's advising him that he's going about getting his own way all wrong and that he needs to be more subtle about it.

She isnt some one i would miss, her pregnancy storyline was ok but it was Jane that made that storyline for me, i have a feeling they will re cast the charactor but i aint bothered either way unless a new actress comes in and really turns Lucy into a proper charactor. Lucy herself was stupid to let such a good job slip throug hher fingers

Melissa is an OK actress but I wouldn't say she was great.

 

Infact, the only "child" actors I like in EE are Emer Kelly and Jamie Borthwick

I've always said that Melissa is a $h!t actress and as a result, Lucy is a very unlikable character. I want to love her/hate her like I loved/hated Cindy, but she's simply not a good enough actress and I spend the entire time she's on screen cringing. The same went for Stephen when he was in it too - except he was a different sort of bad.

 

I do hope she gets recast into some foxy little Janine-like minx, because she has that potential. I've been waiting for a Lucy recast for years and was worrying that it wasn't going to come.

Nice to see Merci on, she was in the three EastEnder 'E20' spin-offs. What and odd episode tonight though, and what was with that doll?!

^I agree with it being a bit odd. Pat and Peggy's scenes were really nice, and once I saw the car behind Leon, it clicked with me that that's how he'll exit. And just as he was getting good!

Leon certainly has NOT 'got good'. Still wooden as sin. I really enjoyed tonight's though, I've never really minded the teens and their little escapade is a nice escape from the misery of the last few weeks on the square. Fatboy especially has been enjoyable. I'm not sure Leon's actually dead. It was probably just an animal, surely...
