Although the highlight of tonight's episode was Minty's "I'm great with babies, probably because they think I'm one of them". Genuine LMFAO!

I prefer Kim Metcalf playing Sam, Daniella is too wooden, I'm glad she's gone.

Prior to this little stint Daniella has always been shit. Suddenly she is HILARIOUS and ICONIC. I think it's because the writers have stopped trying to make us like/pity her.

BILLIE JACKSON

gets killed off next month - HURRAH! Bianca finds his dead body the morning after his birthday party. Could tie in with Bianca leaving for a while whilst Patsy P is on maternity I guess. Alan returns for the funeral.

His grandmother Blossom will also be returning for the funeral. I'm pleased myself, the character just hasn't worked out at all and is mostly quite dreadful. I'm not sure about killing him off, though it will open up many things for Carol. And if they are going to kill him off I cant help but feel it should be involved with him being in the army, it would be an interesting avenue to take.

But yeah, his exit was inevitable really what with Kirkwood now in charge (Devon was dimissed from his role in Hollyoaks by Kirkwood as well for those unaware)

I suppose with Kirkwood in charge, it really was only a matter of time before Devon Anderson got himself the boot again. I'd love to know if this was just a "storyline-led decision", or if there was another scandal...

Alan's mother BLOSSOM is also coming back - I remember her being FABULOUS back in the 90s, a typical interfering biddie grandma.

In all seriousness though, this sounds like it's going to be a FANTASTIC storyline.

Indeed :wub: I think the show was always brilliant up until about 2003 and thats when things started going downhill.

Oh I still love it, but there were some brilliant characters in the 90's - the Mitchells, Jacksons, Fowlers, Pat and Frank, Steve and Mel, Tiffany, Simon, Tony, Irene, Terry, Sharon etc...

Post 2000 has had its fair share of classic storylines and characters but I think it was truly at it's best circa 1995-1998. Some of the storylines and issues featured at this time were revolutionary for British TV. The fact that a lot of things don't come across so shocking now though shows how much society has changed in the past 15 years.

At its best (moments of which come around pretty regularly) it's still a fxcking fantastic television show. Nobody does SHEER DRAMA (mostly of the miserable variety) quite like EastEnders.

Loved tonight's episode - Kat and her random new voice, Vanessa's hair being more WILDLY absurd than ever and Sam generally being a whore who takes pleasure in ruining relationships.
