Apparantly Tanya is actually the one who pushes the walking Power Suit and Max back together. Which is good; I think Vanessa and Tanya hating each other would be too obvious and tiresome.

 

 

 

I LOVED tonight's episode. The Slater stuff was absolutely fantastic, just pure chaos. I bet nobody anticipated that Kat and Alfie would be upstaged on their big return by Jean! And even Charlie came out with a couple of crackers - the look of utter dismay as Mo presents her bosom...

 

On the other side, I felt bad for Minty that he had such a p***-poor exit. I know he was never a front-burner, but he'd been on the show long enough to warrant a decent send-off.

I loved the Slater stuff aswell it was brilliant tonight and i love Kat as much as ever.

The Slater stuff was brilliant, I loved it when Jean sabataged Alfie's return, and pretending to be the fuzz, giving the others to scapper. And the bombshell at the end of the episode.

I am loving loving loving having Kat and Alfie back - especially today's episode which saw them interacting with characters they haven't met before. I loved Kat's "I just fought one of Banarama for this" line :lol: I always had a feeling Roxy and Kat wouldn't get on.

That was what struck me tonight too - lots of unexpected interaction between characters. It was a FANTASTIC episode.

I find Kat highly overrated. Lacey Turner really shows Jessie Wallace up in the acting stakes.

What do you see in Tanya? She's nothing special. The character or the acting.

Kat is incredibly meh so far. I didn't see her original stretch, but she's like a ledge, so I expected her to be AMAZING. I find her very limp currently - unless that's usually how she is/was? Also, she's now had 5 cliffhangers/"doof doof"s in a row - a record!? :o

I'm sure Peggy had that many during Vicburngate.

She was actually always as average as she is now. EE was going along quite well ... god knows why they brought this tired old fossil back (two fossils if you include the equally inept Shane Ritchie).

Stacey is indeed a better actor than Kat but Stacey is the best actor in any soap by a clear mile. Kat with many seems to be a love or hate person but on the whole i think she is far more love dthan hated. I was always a kat fan and she is one of my favourite charactors ever from eastenders so im thoroughly enjoying having her back on screen. I have never been an alfie fan but im actually enjoying all his scenes so far which is odd for me.

You know, I'm not totally hating Kat and Alfie right now.

 

I like that they've made some real effort in integrating them back into the Square; both with characters they already knew and those they didn't. And the Slaters collectively have been ON FORM this week, particularly Queen JEAN.

On the other hand, I wish they'd stop mucking about and just get Kat and Alfie back together again, because we know it's going to happen.

 

I agree on the random character matchings this week; Alfie/Heather, Alfie/Shirley, Kat/Roxy, Glenda/Carol - shouldn't work, but they DO. I'm doing a U-turn on Glenda this week; she is a RIDICULOUS woman, but the bookies scenes were GOLD.

I'm sure Peggy had that many during Vicburngate.

Tony, I wouldn't even attempt to reason with Jark where Tanya Branning is concerned. Lost cause!

20 grand for the Queen Vic? BARGAIN.

I've had time to think about it and Jane is the only comparison.

 

Zanab and Denise are twice the characters and actors that Tanya is/was. She's not terrible but she's kinda dull. An average EE character where there are diamonds elsewhere.
