April 9, 201015 yr ... and yet again, buzzjacks biggest hypocritical bone idle layabout has started a thread bemoaning bone idle layabouts.... oh how ironic <_<
April 9, 201015 yr Author agreed with these posts. tbh im in half a mind to close this thread, i mean, basing a serious discussion on an article in THE SUN?.... fcuk off! Surely a moderator is here to settle arguments and uphold board rules etc but not dictate what we can and can't discuss? ;) If the members didn't want to discuss it then the thread wouldn't have 42 replies. :) Edited April 9, 201015 yr by Victor Meldrew
April 9, 201015 yr Author ... and yet again, buzzjacks biggest hypocritical bone idle layabout has started a thread bemoaning bone idle layabouts.... oh how ironic <_< It's not about those at all. I never mentioned bone idle layabouts and neither does the article. Other BJ members brought those in to it. The thread's about most jobs being filled by foreigners. It's not all their fault either as employers are partly to blame. The BBC programme recently showed a similar situation so it can't be totally untrue. Edited April 9, 201015 yr by Victor Meldrew

April 10, 201015 yr As the idle idiot who began this thread is so worried about migrants taking cleaning, portering, care, factory and other 'lowly' jobs from under his nose..... perhaps he'd like me to liaise with some colleagues of mine in his area - I can guarantee him a full-time job, albeit probably on the wages these 'job-stealers' would be on...? I'd hate to think he was sitting there, desperate for work, when these bloody Poles are there robbing jobs he could do and raking in our cash, wouldn't you?

If and when I ever become fit for work again I'll gladly take you up on it. Cheers. :D
April 10, 201015 yr Author why should YOU care if foreigners are taking jobs, you have no intention of working. The thread wasn't just for me though. It was a news story that I thought would be interesting to discuss. Edited April 10, 201015 yr by Victor Meldrew

April 10, 201015 yr Author the sun NEVER has anything interesting to discuss, please dont use the sun again for a referance point. its a comic, not a newspaper. Funny that. Last time I checked Rob The Sun was registered in the UK as a NEWSPAPER.
April 10, 201015 yr I totally agree. Or as South Park would sum up ....... A-PII2rSLVo Lol! I was just thinking about that episode when I read this! "They took r jorrrrbs!"
April 10, 201015 yr Author I thought you didn't read the sun Chris? ^_^ I can't afford to buy a newspaper but read most of them for free in the library most days. Edited April 10, 201015 yr by Victor Meldrew
April 11, 201015 yr Funny that. Last time I checked Rob The Sun was registered in the UK as a NEWSPAPER. thats about as much a newspaper as i am the prime minister.
April 11, 201015 yr I can't afford to buy a newspaper but read most of them for free in the library most days. How can you afford to pay for the internet?
April 12, 201015 yr And, just as we all thought, the report was a load of crap! http://www.leftfootforward.org/2010/04/the...to-uk-citizens/ Chris, you really do believe anything the tabloids tell you, don't you?
April 14, 201015 yr Are you accusing today's Sun and Mail of lying then? :o Yes it's in The Mail too. Gotta be Buzzjack quote of the year! Anyway, what the narrow-minded of our population seemingly forget is that about 2/3 of the NHS staff were born overseas. Nursing is arguably the least glamorous job in the world, poorly paid and hence why the average Brit doesn't want to work in that industry. And yet it's foreigners that are straining the NHS??? I do believe that British citizens havef first priority, but idiots like The Sun, Mail, Daily Express et al like to create this hysteria that all manual jobs are bypassing the so-called conscientious working class and going straight to Poles. Could it be that companies are more enthusiastic to take on International workers because they are more hard working? I think so. Edited April 14, 201015 yr by ScottyEm

I do believe that British citizens havef first priority, but idiots like The Sun, Mail, Daily Express et al like to create this hysteria that all manual jobs are bypassing the so-called hardworking middle class and going straight to Poles. Could it be that companies are more enthusiastic to take on International workers because they are more hard working? I think so. I assume the likes of the Sun, Hatemail and Distress outsource things like cleaning their offices. Perhaps they'd like to tell us how many of the people who keep their offices clean were born overseas. Or maybe they'd find that a little embarrassing.
April 19, 201015 yr I have to say that I agree with everything that Craig, Tyron and Silas, etc have been saying in this thread... The facts are there woudn't be any immigrants "taking jobs" if employers could actually find enthusiastic individuals within the indigenous population.. But the facts are, for the most part, white, British people somehow think they're "too good" to take on roles in cleaning, retail, manual labour, etc... I personally know of people who are trained lawyers, teachers, etc in their own countries, who've had to leave for one reason for another and who are working any job they can get because they have a very powerful work ethic, and they're actually studying as well as working full time jobs so they CAN actually pursue over here what they've been trained for back home... Try motivating Wayne Chav to do that, not gonna happen is it..? Hey, why work when Muggins the Taxpayer will give you a living...? <_< Of course, there is another side to this - that being the role of employers... The facts are that employers are regularly exploiting their immigrant workforce, there's a lot of anecdotal (and some actual) evidence which points to the fact that some employers (mainly in the construction industry it has to be said) who dont pay their immigrant workforce as much as they do indigenous workers.. And also the role of Temping Agencies has to be a lot more closely scrutinised.. Temps dont enjoy the same protection under law as regular employees do, and this is simply wrong. Temps are pretty much in a legal black hole as far as Employment Law goes, unless they're fortunate enough to be on the books of a good, reputable agency and not one of the many sharks that are out there.. Also, the fact that there are still a fair few employers out there circumventing the National Minimum Wage and are seemingly being allowed to do so by Gordon Brown and Nu Labor because it suits them... As for the "minimum wage", well, I think you all know how I feel about that - it's pitifully low, especially in London, it's frankly a nonsense to expect people in London or the South East to be able to live on about 6 quid an hour... I would say that surely a system of London Weighting has to be applied to the Minimum Wage, because as it stands, it doesn't offer much incentive to people to work... As for this assertion that white, english people are being discriminated against by employers at the application stage.... Nonsense... What people fail to recognise is the fact that the anti-discrimination laws actually cover the selection process too, not JUST when you actually get the job.. Discrimination is defined in law as "less favourable treatment", and this doesn't necessarily have to just confine itself to ethnicity, gender, etc, it covers all bases... So, if a white, English person indeed WAS receiving "less favourable treatment" than an immigrant, they could bring a case to an Employment Tribunal just as easily as a black or asian person or a woman could... So, let's hope that this now brings a conclusion to this whole ridiculous assumption that's being made by the Daily Heil and the Scum.....
