From this list of people who sent their CDs earlier than others etc people will have more chances to guess whose CD they have. Just to simply see the 'last modification date' when archive is open. I notice it automatically without even thinking so sorry if it happens :(

Well there are several ways to avoid that - just dont pay any attention to the date, or the list of people who report that they have posted theirs....or when then post it...
Finished mine I think :w00t: took off two tracks at the last minute and added two that help it to flow better, love it now
I don't have a zip folder, just WinRAR..

You better not tell the exact amount of songs you have! :o

if by .3 you mean 20 minutes then it's just the limit and it's alright i guess.

me too.

and also Winamp has create .m4a files....

will they play on iTunes? I know WMP wont play them...

m4a is the itunes format yes.

Are you saying that it won't be mp3's from you? :o Because it'd really be preferable to have mp3's since not everybody have iTunes (and i don't personally like playing music via WMP (it plays m4a for me btw :o ) too)

I thought zip was a Mac / PC standard? I'm pretty sure you can create a zip folder even without WinZip, and I'm pretty sure Winrar opens zips? If you still can't create the zip file, just download WinZip. Not everyone has WinRar and it wouldn't really be fair to make whoever gets your CD download it.

I'm pretty much certain that .m4a's play in iTunes, but .mp3's are definitely preferable as m4a's are almost usually lower quality. But if that's all you can do it's definitely fine.

Also, 1.3 hours should be fine, but you may want to delete a song to be careful.

For some reason my computer doesn't have it.  But yeah fair does, I'll download WinZip now. :D

Zip = RAR basically, WinRAR opens both extensions, there're settings you could change if it doesn't.

oops i uploaded RAR :(

Will change the extension and upload again. :D

I always uploaded/received .rar files on CHC and never had any problems. I thought WinRar was a standard programme that everyone has anyway by this point, certainly those who download music? If it must be in .zip I'll reupload but seeing as it took about two hours to upload in the first place, I'd rather not.

Leaks online all tend to be .rar files.

I'll hunt about for winzip after my exam tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure zip is the standard. I know on Macs it definitely is and .rar's can be really bitchy to use. You don't HAVE to reupload it, but it would be nice if you find the time (not sure why it took you two hours...it really shouldn't be taking that long). Yes, those who illegally download will have Winrar as leaks typically come equally in zip and rar form, but not everyone doing this uses blogs (I'm sure a bunch just use torrents, like I do, though I have winrar).

I just think it'd probably end up being easier if everything was a .zip file as WinRar takes both .zip and .rar files but nor everyone has it. But if all you can do is .rar and that's all you have the time for then that's fine, I'll post links to Winrar when I pass out CDs for anyone who doesn't have a program that can unzip .rar files.

I'm also fairly certain you DON'T need Winzip to make a zip file. Right click on the folder -> send to -> compressed zip folder or whatever. There's an option for it. And if that's not there I'm sure you can do it with Winrar if you tried. Again, if not, don't spend too much time worrying about it and just make a rar file.

My internet's not that fast sadly and if I'm uploading a file that big it practically renders my internet connection otherwise useless :( I'll try to reupload then, it didn't even cross my mind that I'd uploaded a rar instead of a zip until it was mentioned here. It's my own fault, I didn't read the rules fully before uploading.

i dont have winzip but i can unzip things, i havent zipped anything before though, only rarred but i think i can zip as standard without a program.
in fact just looked if you use windows (im using vista cant remember for other versions but its proberly the same) right click the folder > send to > Compressed (zipped) folder. not exactly hard.

my cd has leaked online and is all over the torrent sites....damned piracy

:D
