Ok, so i've given the tracks a listen and i'd rank them as follows:

01 || Run Devil Run - Ke$ha version

02 || Gee///Tell Me Your Wish [Genie]///Run Devil Run

I'll be honest, they were a lot better than i was expecting. The Ke$ha version of Run Devil Run is possibly your best chance at doing really well, mainly because of it's part English nature and because she's a former winner. Although no single artist has won it twice and they don't tend to do as well after their win. eg Lily Allen was very nearly the exception to this, She can 2nd in VI, 1st in VIII but 14th in XIV. [if Aaron had going just one contest later I Don't Know could have taken that victory :drama:]

Gee is quite poppy and catchy, RDR has some good qualities about it and the backing track to Genie is amazing.

I'm honestly not sure how any of them will do, K/J-pop is quite rare in BJSC. If you do go with one of them [and they are good tracks] there is a risk you'll be joining me towards the lower end of the results :heehee:

Thanks for your opinions Silas :) It's given me more to think about; and :lol: if you're at the lower end of the results, well then at least I will have good company :P Anyways if you send the song the Liar and the Lighter how could that possibly fail, it's incredible :o

And typical :rolleyes: after spending ages writing up that article I've changed my mind and decided that I won't be doing another heat of just English songs. Also I've finally decided that the original version of Run Devil Run is out of the running at this point in time, and I won't be entering the remix of Genie. I was going to write up another article about all of these developments but I can't be bothered and I might change my mind anway:heehee:

I'm thinking I will post Gee, the mash-up of Run Devil Run and Genie in the Green Room and see if I can get more people to give their thoughts who may not look in this thread.

Pleasure!

The Liar And The Lighter is a Ballad, ballads don't do well normally. One of the greatest ballads of all time only made it to =17th [/24iirc] in BJSC I :( Plus she could fall under the Ashton Curse :drama: [An unknown artist, on paper a strong track or a ballad that should do well. Get's a reasonable reaction then flops home in the lower end of the scoreboard or DNQ's]

I'm known for changing my mind :heehee:

You might get a response in there. Your still quite new, so activity in here may pick up over time as people start to anticipate what your next entry will be.

Oh really? That's a shame, some of the best songs are ballads - I take it pop tends to be the most popular genre. And what ballad was that, that ony finished 17th? :lol: @ the Ashton curse, it does sound pretty suckish; if you did decide to enter The Liar and the Lighter then you are guaranteed points from at least me (I'm sure that makes you feel a whole lot better :P) It is a truly haunting song.

And true, tbh I'm happy with the response I've already got; I thought at first my National Thread was going to flop on it's arse :drama: :heehee:

I found a good way to get some more opinions on your possible entries is to go to the other national threads, rate their entries and ask them to do the same with yours and put a link to the post with your videos. :P

Delta Goodrem's utterly orgasmic Believe Again. :wub:

:lol: I'm used to it, it's mainly because i send them at either the wrong time, they get drawn into the wrong semi or they suffer from 11th vote syndrome. It's nice when i find a track that does well without being cheap [Alex Roots :wub:]

Surprisingly while pure pop does tend to do quite well it's not the most popular genre. We seem to go through phases, we've had Electropop and Scandipop and we're well into a more Indie dominated sound at the moment. We used to have a strong RnB block but thats almost gone now. The contest shifts with new blood so, it could take a huge jump this month.

:wub: thanks

Yeah, you never know, asian pop could be the new dominant sound in the contest :lol: Well, anything's possible. Last month a rap song won, the three months before that were indie though, and then it was pop.

By the way Phil, I thought you said you were commenting on my thread? :snif: If you need a guide let me know, I'll PM you the entries I'm thinking about sending :lol:

Oh yeah i need a guide :lol: I never know which tracks have been discounted and what's still in play :drama:
I'll sort it out after the election thingy :lol:

~NEW CAPRICAN POST~

GIRLS' GENERATION WIN INTERNAL SELECTION!

Pages 3&4&11&12

Tell Me Your Wish casts its spell over New Caprica

After weeks of chaos, Government interference and protests, democracy won out as the Internal Selection committee announced that the winner of the first ever Internal Selection, and also the first first ever BJSC entry, is Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) - who were always predicted to win the televised Internal Selection heat after SHINee were knocked out during the early stages. 260 million votes were cast during the intital selection period although there were doubts that the eventual winner would even be chosen to represent New Caprica, because the Government lacked confidence in us. They disgustingly offered numerous (all English) alternatives for the committee to chose from behind our backs. The cabinet is dependent on the investment and revenue that would result from a BJSC win, which cash strapped New Caprica is in dire need of. And they didn't trust the public to make that decision, showing how slimy and desperate they are. However, early this morning the head of the committee, Taemin Palmer, announed that Girls Generation - Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) won by a landslide and will be flying out to Hendinia on the next available flight as the contest kicks off. This news will come as a relief to the country, as the song was truly the people's favourite.

Public Backlash

However, if it was wasn't for the protest of the public, and indeed us the New Caprican Post , this might not of happened and Goverment interference might have persuaded the Committee to ignore the result of the Internal Selection. After the news websites caught wind of this farce, the New Caprican Post made a petition that was singed by over 10 million people. Online websites were also set up to show their disdain, and Twitter was swamped with people's comments, bringing the website crashing down for an incredible 24 hours. It wasn't until an interview with the New Caprican Vogue, just after the Goverment's proposals leaked, that Taemin Palmer confirmed that it was always the plan for the winner of the Internal Selection to be chosen - and finally offered an unconvincing explanation:

"We are a Korean country, and it is only right that the first ever BJSC entry is a Korean song - as we said when we first announced the nominations - and we are going to stick by that. I can say we [the committee]were approached by a Government official, and we discussed possible future entries, from diverse genres such as spoken poetry, rap and musical numbers, but it was never anyones intention to enter another song for BJSC XXIV over the winner of the internal selection."

BJSC 27 And Beyond

Despite the fact that we haven't even won yet, and the country could still make a loss out of entering this contest, the Goverment has singed a contract to extend our participation for another five years, with Taemin Plamer remaining as the Head of the Committee for the duration. This is despite calls for a whole new Internal Seletion Committee to be decided for by public elections. However, the Government apointed Taemin said it would be too "time consuming" although promised it will be looked into at a future date. Once again without an annoucement, and behind closed doors, the committee has already been tasked with choosing the nominations for the upcoming internal selection for BJSC 27. Rumours are strong that Taemin is already reaching out to Jonathon Groff, star of US hit show Glee, and Hayley Williams, lead singer of Paramore, to sign on the dotted line to possibly represent our great country in the next contest. Both are currently in New Caprica "for business purposes" according to their agents. However, the other potential nominees remain a tight lipped secret. All I can say is this: after the disaster that was made organising this internal selection; the bureaucracy of it all; the millions it cost the taxpayers - is it all really worth it?

On behalf of all of our New Caprica, we thank you. So say we all!

So I'm bored, can't sleep and browsing through youtube I'm already thinking of what to enter for the next contest and here are a few of my early favourites;

Cast of Spring Awakening - Totally f***ed

Diane Charlemagne & Moby - In This World (Live at Glastonbury)

Diane Charlemagne & Moby - In My Heart (MTV Rome Live)

John Murphy - Sunshine (Adagio In D Minor)

Cast Of Spring Awakening - Totally f***ed - Not bad but I didn't have the urge to listen to it again, tbh. :P

Diane Charlemagne & Moby - In This World (Live At Glastonbury) - Her voice is great and I love live music but it gets kinda „boring“ at parts.

Diane Charlemagne & Moby - In My Heart (MTV Rome Live) - Don't like this at all. Sounds just like random noise at parts. :/

John Murphy - Sunshine (Adagio In D Minor) - I like this a lot but I'm pretty sure that this would flop badly in BJSC.

John Murphy - Sunshine (Adagio In D Minor) with vocals by Zeforah - Not THAT different from the other version, is it?

Well the second Sunshine track has vocals, which is the main difference, and it also features an older version of the track that was ripped from the movie itself. The official, studio version of the track wasn't released until almost a year and a half after the film came out :drama:

And oh, I love the arrangement of the live version of In My Heart, mainly just for the bit between 3.01 and 3.17 :wub: maybe you would like the studio version better?

Thanks for the feedback Zechhh :)

Oh, and I'm loving this at the moment as well;

I do like the studio version a bit better. Still only a mediocre song for me, though.

Flyleaf on the other hand is AWESOME! :wub: High points from me GUARANTEED! :kink:

Double post? What double post? :kink:

You deleted the wrong post. :kink:

For everyone who is reading this now, it looks as if you are the one who is hallucinating. :P

But thx. ;)

Definitely. :D

Let's hope there is no need to be angry in 2 hours. :P

I know, Flyleaf are sex for the ears (so jelous my friends got to see them live), and that is my favourite song by them. I definitely think this is what I will be entering, unless I suddenly fall in love with another song.
