April 17, 201015 yr Is this some sort of game? You should ask first a mod about starting games here ;) BTW I don't see the point because there will be only minor changes Chart Chat Forum Rules 1. We run several regular 'game' features so would appreciate it if you could ask one of us if you can run a new game before posting.

April 17, 201015 yr Not needed, the big top 40 chart is one big fake chart, Bit harsh! Just because you don't like the Big Top 40 doesn't say nobody does! I've always loved the way so many chart followers are so quick to criticise the BTF or its predecessors for being a made up chart / not being official and have countless discussions about the constantly changing listings of a single download website.

This happened I while ago I remember.

April 17, 201015 yr yeh it happened at the beginning of march i believe when Daisy dares you was in the chart. It was actually at 9 but on big top 40 ended on 6 Yeah, and Rock That Body got onto the top 10 too (I think #7). I remember it, because it really only peaked at #11 on iTunes. Telephone got into the top 10 that week too, back before it got insanely popular. Another weird thing the Big Top 40 do is they combine multiple entries for the songs in the mid-week update at the start of the show, but when they do the real chart at the end, they just do the individual entries. So in theory, some songs could chart twice on the Big Top 40 Show. It almost happened with Telephone, as it was #3 and #11 the first week it got at #1 in the official chart. I suppose it could also happen if we get another song with a really popular remix, like In For the Kill last year.

Yeh, its confusing but oh well, doesnt mean that its a bad chart like an administartor said. They just like to show whats the top ten songs at that time , although they probably do need to sort out a different system so that it makez=s a bit more sense lol. I think it was No.8 for rock that body but im not 100% sure? Edited April 17, 201015 yr by connor111
April 17, 201015 yr Yeh, its confusing but oh well, doesnt mean that its a bad chart like an administartor said. They just like to show whats the top ten songs at that time , although they probably do need to sort out a different system so that it makez=s a bit more sense lol Yeah, I like the chart, mainly because it's almost constant music from 4pm to 7pm. On Radio 1's chart show, they sometimes already in the top 10 by 6pm (I know this because I listen to both charts at the same time), which leaves them with 30 minutes left to talk, and 30 minutes of music, which I don't like the idea of, to be honest. The Big Top 40 would probably be better if they did the "lock-down" at 4:30, after playing the mid-weeks. Then they could just play the live iTunes top 40 as of 4:30, and just miss all the airplay out. Also, the fact that they factor in airplay gives such weird chart runs (e.g. 5-6-9-38-37-39 or 1-4-6-9-X-X-X-12-15-etc.), which is quite annoying. I think they should change it while they have the chance. The only problem I see with this is they'll have more songs charting twice, and they'll have quite a lot of album songs charting in the #30-#40 range.
