Posted April 19, 201015 yr i think sugababes can still be big but it seems as if no one cares much for girlbands anymore except girls aloud the saturdays latest album flopped mini viva last single bombed the veronicas album didnt do very well spice girls last song headlines didnt do as well as they hoped girls cant catch are not going to make it big with 2 great but flop singles pussycat dolls are on hold girls aloud are also on hold WHAT HAS HAPPEND TO GIRL BANDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 19, 201015 yr Quite simple really The Saturdays latest album flopped - because they chose a stupid first single. Mini Viva last single bombed - they released the song at a much too competitive time. The Veronicas album didn't do very well - After only 1 Top 10 hit i'm not surprised. Spice Girls last song headlines didn't do as well as they hoped - because it was $h!t compared to previous material. Girls Can't Catch are not going to make it big with 2 great but flop singles - the songs may have been OK but the band has no personality or anything exciting about them. Pussycat Dolls are on hold - they are not they (Nicole) is working on new material for her, 3/4 new girls & Melody. Girls Aloud are also on hold - it's one of the wisest decision they could make but unfortunately the ruined that opportunity.
April 19, 201015 yr Too bandwagon just a little: The Saturdays latest album flopped || Of course it did, the lead single was $h!te. It hard to save a dead album Mini Viva last single bombed || They did better than people expected with Left My Heart In Tokyo, the new song wasn't as good, hence the lower chart pos. The Veronicas album didn't do very well || A new band should never launch an album off one single when they don't have a hype machine following them The Spice Girls last song Headlines didn't do as well as they hoped || Simple. It was $h!t. end of really, if they'd come back with a semi decent track it would have done much better. Girls Can't Catch are not going to make it big with 2 great but flop singles || They need time to build a fanbase. If their label has patience they'll come good when the public gets to know them Pussycat Dolls are on hold || As steve said this is bull, they are recording new material Girls Aloud are also on hold || They are doing solo work currently with a view to getting back together at the end of this year/start of next AFAIK. Sugababes || You can't replace the remaining original member and not expect a back lash. They have no credibility and a p*** poor team behind them. AAG suffered from no promo and a $h!t video. The first because someone carted Amelle off to the funny farm and the second because the brainiac management sacked Keisha the day before the video shoot [if they wanted rid of her so bad they should have released AAG and S7, then let her go for a re-release of S7 later with Jade similar to TIMW] The album leaked 9weeks before release [i know what to do about the album leak, lets push it back a week ] Oh and Wear My Kiss is far too generic/crappy for a babes track to have been a single not to mention the sub-par album that i'm already very much over
April 19, 201015 yr You can read what I have written about it in the Pop Forum. :) Phil, about Veronicas. As I remember, they released the album after the second single which was 4ever and got only to about #17. Edited April 19, 201015 yr by Arrs
April 19, 201015 yr Its a rough period yes and I wont go into too much detail. Some of the ones listed are living on limited time whilst others are just going thought a rough time. Girls Aloud and PCD are completly fine, assuming new material does eventually come from them. The Sats will hopefully still be able to save Wordshaker with a re-release and judging by Ego's sucsess - there is still interest from the public. Girls Cant Catch are building things up - if the label continues to support them, they could still manage to make a career perhaps. The Veronicas album did bomb - but they're main territorry is Australia really, being sucsessful in the UK to them is probablu just a bonus. The Spice Girls still made a tone load of money from the tour. Mini Viva and Sugababes are the only ones who I cant turn a positive spin on things :P
April 21, 201015 yr IDG all the hate on Forever is over. It's such a good song, although i do think they should have released the album after a 2nd single. I hope Mini Viva's next single does well, its soooo good Girls Can't Catch (a break!) have no personality. I can't wait till Girls Aloud come back and show them all how its done.
May 22, 201015 yr To answer the first post: Because they are not interesting anymore. With acts like Lady Gaga people want to expect something new and fresh. We've seen it all before what the current girlgroups are doing right now.
