how were they allowed another album when their last two bombed
Because they are still a well established act (just not respected), plus their singles are still selling decently.

Eh, I think they're ''over'' as well. How often do you see artists climb back to the top of the charts after a few years of decline.

But I still hope they will keep making music even though the succes isn't as it was before.

I think there are cases of artists being in decline that come back with a bang and then are on top of the world again.

It could happen, it's unlikely unless they have the right material. Until Keishagate the indications were that the S7 era was going to be much more successful than the C&S era

Yeah, sometimes there are cases where acts can come back with a bang again after a decline, but sadly that's a rarity, but I do have a good feeling the Sugababes will be able to do it, as long as they come back with the right sound.
I seriously doubt they will have a successful comeback. I think the problem has been too many line up changes and now none of the originals are left. The more recent material hasnt been half as good as some of their earlier stuff.
As a huge Sugababes fan for many years, I really hope they can have a successful comeback. I really like Jade and I'm hoping the next album will be a success for them. What made Sugababes was that their albums were always individual and unique and that was the problem with Sweet 7, as much as I liked it, it was far too generic to be a 'Sugababes' album.

Jade Ewen has revealed that the new Sugababes album has an "organic" sound.

The singer, who is recording her second album with the group, said their new material would be written by themselves and more "vocally driven" than their last LP Sweet 7.

"We're currently in the studio recording at the minute. This album is more vocally driven and organic," she told Dean Piper.

"We really want to be all about the voices so are just getting round an acoustic guitar to write the songs at the minute. Speaking as a fan, I loved The Sugababes round the 'Freak Like Me' days where it was all about the vocals.'

Ewen also added that they aren't working with famous producers on the record in a bid to stand out in the charts.

She continued: "We've recorded about 15 tracks so far. There are no big-name producers we're working with as then we'll end up sounding like them and everything that's out there at the minute.

"I'm counting this as my first album as I've been there from the beginning and have had just as much input. It will definitely sound a lot different to Sweet 7 as that was current and fitted into what was around in the charts when it was released."

Ewen recently confirmed that the band will not release a new single this year

:) Sounds good

omg, she just said everything that I had hoped for! It sounds VERY promising indeed!!

And I didn't know they already recorded so many songs! I thought this was something like 'yeah you know, we've talked about our next album but we're not really working on it yet besides sharing some ideas'.

I know! I'm so glad they've already recorded that amount of songs! Judging by that, I'm hoping we'll hear something in the beginning of next year.

Oh my god!

That statement is essentially 100% the same as what as I was hoping she would say!

Very excited for this! :cheer:

That's an amazing news! Hopefully they'll get it right this time! A new single in summer and another one in autumn along with the album, it would be great!
