Catfights & Spotlights outsold Sweet 7 10:1. Hardly floppy in direct comparison.

C&S actually was a bloody brilliant album that was poorly managed and as a result undersold.

And Change outsold C&S by around 5:1...

The only difference is that C&S was a flop for the "Sugababes" brand and for their status, and Sweet 7 was undeniably a flop in any cathegory.

Yes, it flopped. However, all three singles made the top 10, which was their first era for that to happen since 'TIMW' in 2005/6!

LOADS of big artists have had a flop album, and they get back up there with the next one, you can't really say this album will most likely flop when we haven't really had confirmation about the style of music, etc...

Let's not generalize with those afirmations...you really can't put those three singles as part of the same campaign, because the circumstances of their releases were totally different. The singles did fine, and the only thought you can take from that is that they still have the chance of getting a new hit single.

But the perspective about the album are pretty bad now because the only thing we can count on is the degeneration of their fanbase since probably the Change era. It's going to be hard for them to get the people into them now. That's what the situation is now. When we hear some of their new stuff I'm sure the perspective will be better.

A producer has revealed that the Sugababes are 'killing' the vocals on their upcoming album.

The band, who are currently recording their eighth studio record, were praised by producer Pete Boxsta for their "fantastic" voices while recording new material at London's Matrix studios.

He tweeted: "Recording with Sugababes @ Matrix Studios - sounding awesome! All three girls completely killed their parts in the first 3 or 4 takes - fantastic singers! (sic)".

It marks the second time the group have worked with the hitmaker in the last twelve months, after he tweeted in June 2010 that he was producing music with a "drums and guitars" sound for the band.

Boxsta, who has co-produced a number of the band's previous tracks including 'Freak Like Me' and 'Denial', has also worked with girlband Trinity Stone - a three-piece group that featured newest Sugababe Jade Ewen.

A budget-price best of album by the group will reportedly be released next month.

you hope atleast.... People are bored of the NEW sugababes... They NOW have as much less credibility than PCD and that's saying alot..

I never hated them, really like their stuff in 2008/2009

But tbh, no1 cares about them anymore.... And if they had a hardcore fanbase still, their last album would have sold more than 14,000 in the 1st week, or whatever it did...

Just saying....

I bet they will announce their split after the next album :)

We've only heard TWO real songs from the 4.0 line-up - 'Crash and Burn' and 'Santa Baby', both which were great imo! The rest of 'Sweet 7' had Jade's vocals added onto the already recorded songs, so we haven't even had a whole album from them yet!

They arent producing their 8th album though are they, they're producing their first full album. Just sayin'.

Actually it will be the 8th studio album to be released under the brandname of Sugababes.

Seeing as that's all they are now, a brandname, 8th album is perfectly correct.

I'm sorry, but this act have totally put the final nail in their coffin by ousting their sole remaining original member, that's it for them and it doesn't matter what they come up with, they've totally killed off any chance of success or being taken remotely seriously by many people.

They are working with InvisibleMen too... They produced half of 'Ten', for instance, 'On a Mission' included.

Edit: they also did 3 tracks on C&S: No Can Do, Hanging on a Star, Nothing's as Good as You.

No, no, no It's not just another artist. It is the Australian version of God.

And my god the Invisible Men produced stuff on Ten was utterly sublime.

Hanging On A Star & Nothings As Good As You were both excellent. I'm glad they are back with more Sugababesy producers. As much as i love Stargate and TYFTH, it's not the Sugababes sound that they need to shift records.

And for the record. On A Mission was the second best song to be released in the UK last year behind the Norwegian God, Tone Damli.

I don't recall Kylie Minogue releasing a song called "On a Mission"

To be fair though, I don't think that the likes of Boxsta and Invisible Men could give Sugas some outstanding material. It will be good, yes. But to return they need something groundbreaking, absolutely new to the music and still commercial - like in the 2.0 days.

Are you saying Australia has a different God?!

And Norway too? :o :o

Invisible Men have produced some great songs in the past, really looking forward to their songs on the album! :D
