So do we know the direction of the album yet? I hope it's (alot) less electro-mainstream-pop.

I reckon it will get released but nothing they release is going to be any more successful than Sweet 7 from now on.

I think if they have somehow a lead single of the 'About You Now' or at least 'Round Round' size they will be quite safe with the album too. The Sugababes were always under control of the successfulness of the lead single.

I hope they do better with this album than sweet 7, does anybody no the sales for sweet 7 ?

I think that with a new sound and brand new album, plus they wait til next year, they could be bug again. Jade is quite simply the best singer the group has ever had, fact. She is sexy, and blends in with the girls much more than keisha did IMO. whilst im on the subject, i hope Keishas solo career crashes and burns quicker than Sweet 7 did.

 

It also really pi***d me off how the album was recieved. The album itself is a good one, thats undeniable, but the reviews were terrible. critics nowadays are so unprofessional its unreal. We all know if keisha was in the group it would have gotten rave reviews, people are just so caught up in the drama that they cant look past it. It would have gotten bad reviews if it was the next 'thriller' tbh.

S7 only charted badly because Keisha originally recorded it, plus it was released right after the whole drama, and it leaked over a month early, so people refused to buy it. I still cant believe WMY & especially AAG charted so well!

Jade has the best singing voice, heidi has that sweet, ballad-ey voice, and Amelle is Amelle. Sort of a chav with an attitude - but a good one!

Why would Keisha having originally recoeded it affect the charting if none of her vocals feature on the released version of the album? Leaking doesn't really have a big effect, the people who ilegally download it either can't wait for it and would buy it, or never had any intention of buying it anyway. These can't be excuses for it barely crossing 20k in total sales.

 

I don't deny Jade is a fantastic talent and by far and away the best 'vocalist' they've ever had, but she doesn't fit in as a Sugababe. I just really do not see a way they can recover from the situation they're currently in, no matter what they release or what sound they go for.

The only way I can see them make it in the US is if they replace Heidi with someone pretty and young.

WHAT?! Heidi is the prettiest out of the current line up.

 

I still stand strong with the view that when Amelle joined that the Sugababes went downhill.
