6 12 3 3 2 Kylie Minogue - Can’t Get You Out Of My Head 250

5 13 25 101 X Killers - Mr Brightside 257

At #6 back into the Top 10 is a track recorded nearly 15 years into a very successful career that has come to deefine her as the Princess of Pop. Again co-written by Cathy Dennis. Like all great pop songs it does what it says on the tin, yet I've never tired of it. Up next ..... well I like The Killers but I think this track is overrated. Probably because I'm a David Bowie fan, whose favourite album of his is Hunky Dory, so I'm very aware this track rips of "Queen Bitch". Plus I find it strange how most neutral music fans barely know many of their better other singles/tracks, yet they behave like demented idiots when this comes on at my local. Still this song was named "Song of the Decade" by UK radio stations Absolute Radio and XFM, and in April 2010 Last.fm revealed that it was the most listened to track since the launch of the online music service, with over 7.66 million plays scrobbled. ..... and the way this has consistently moved up this countdown over the years suggest I'm very much in the minority.

Can’t Get You Out Of My Head biggest $h!t ever, i don't know why is that song that loved.

Mr Brightside is great but, Somebody Told Me is a bit better imo.

Now to the Top Four ......

4 1 21 X X Leona Lewis – Bleeding Love 267

So Last Year's #1 fails to become the first song to top the Record Of The Decade chart more than once .... This "Rule The World" slaying track was a global #1 hit written by Jesse McCartney & Ryan Tedder. The track has sold over 3,370,000 digital downloads in the United States alone, and was the best selling single there in 2008. It was named the 17th most successful song in the US from 2000 to 2009, on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of the Decade. The song achieved a similar feat in the United Kingdom where it was the best-selling single of 2007. Bleeding Love has sold more than 9 million copies worldwide as a single putting it in the top 5 selling songs of the decade.

Released as the lead single for Rihanna's third studio album, Good Girl Gone Bad. The track was released worldwide on March 29, 2007, and since its release, "Umbrella" has been covered by many artists worldwide and became a zeitgeist hit in pop culture. In 2008, "Umbrella" earned Rihanna and Jay-Z a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in addition to receiving nominations for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. In the UK it managed to stay at number one for 10 weeks, the longest time spent in the 21st century to date. So Buzzjack has gone Radio goo goo for Lady GaGa whom this month Time magazine named as the most influential person/icon in music right now. Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta took her musical moniker from the following two songs by two of her favourite musical heroes:

But which of Lady GaGa's two songs is the Buzzjack 2010 Record Of The Decade??????

Pretty chuffed that IGF is Top 40 :D

2 X X X X Lady GaGa – Poker Face 324

Produced by RedOne, it was released as the album's second single in late 2008 for some markets and in early 2009 for the rest of the world. The song is an uptempo dance song following in the footsteps of her previous single "Just Dance" but has a darker musical tone. The main idea behind the song is bisexuality and was a tribute by Gaga to her past boyfriends. Lyrically "Poker Face" is about sex and gambling. It was nominated in Song of the Year and Record of the Year at the 52nd Grammy Awards and won the Grammy for Best Dance Recording.

This song was #1 in most countries around the world and Year-end charts

Chart (2009) :

Australian Singles Chart 1

Belgian Singles Chart (Flanders) 1

Belgian Singles Chart (Wallonia) 1

Canadian Hot 100 1

Danish Singles Chart 2

European Hot 100 Singles 1

French Singles Chart 4

German Singles Chart 1

New Zealand Singles Chart 3

Romanian Top 100 1

Russian Digital Chart 2

UK Singles Chart 1

US Billboard Hot 100 2

1 X X X X Lady GaGa – Bad Romance 364

It is the lead single from her second studio album/(extended edition of her first album The Fame), The Fame Monster. The track was produced by RedOne and was inspired by the paranoia that she had felt while touring through the previous year. The song was written by Gaga while touring and was inspired by German house-techno music (and surely some Boney M "Ra-ra-Rasputin, Russia's greatest love machine ..."). Lyrically it talks about being in love with one's best friend. The song was a #1 hit in 17 charts including the UK, but peaked at #2 in the USA.

But will it be #1 in 2011, or could it be replaced by a new Lady GaGa track from her third/second album or something old, or something else from 2010.....

Disappointed by GaGa dominance

It's so unusual to see Mr. Brightside going down as such a classic considering it was in the top 40 for all of THREE weeks. 3.

Oh yeah, by the way, Poker Face did make #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 but only because of an iTunes error where Flo Rida's Right Round was deleted for a day (after 6 straight weeks at Billboard #1)

Many thanks to the 44 of you who voted in the Final, and to all of you who voted in the individual Record of The Year Contests. All things being equal, I'll do it all over again in 2011..........

I far prefer Bad Romance to Poker Face personally. Neither are the best record of the noughties though. Out of that top ten my favourite is Robyn but of my actual top 10 favourite songs of the 00's, I'm not sure that anything even featured in the top 200 here :drama:

Thought BR would win as I saw it getting quite a few 20pts.

Well done TIP for running it - alot of hard effort and always fun to vote on :)

But Poker Face is so much better. :(

This. Buzzjack disappoints, once again. The only songs in the top 10 that I deem classics are 'Poker Face', 'Toxic', 'Bleeding Love' and 'Umbrella', of which only 'Toxic' deserved to win. -_-

20th P!nk – Just Like A Pill 193

- 'Who Knew' is FAR better! But this is still a good song though!

19th Arctic Monkeys - I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor 195

- Epicness.

18th Christina Aguilera – Beautiful 197

- Definitely a classic of the noughties. Simple melody and production, simple lyrics, emotive vocal delivery. It's spot on.

17th Snow Patrol - Run 199

- Shame their new album is poor, this is a good track!

16th Girls Aloud – Call The Shots 201

- Wtf. Wtf. Wtf.

15th Beyonce ft Jay-Z – Crazy In Love 202

- Not a fan of her, but this is one of my favourites from her.

14th Anastacia - Left Outside Alone 206

- Should be higher imo.

13th Rihanna - Disturbia 213

- Same as Girls Aloud really. Don't really get why this is so high?..

12th MGMT - Kids 215

- :o Definitely one of my favourite songs from the 21st Century!

11th Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone 217

- Overated. 'Behind These Hazel Eyes' is 10x better than this.

10th Leona Lewis - Run 219

- AS IF this made it higher than the Snow Patrol version.

9th Sugababes – About You Now 233

- It's a good pop tune, I'll give it that.

8th Britney Spears - Toxic 236

- Definitely ahead of its time. The production is still current 6 years on.

7th Robyn ft Kleerup – With Every Heartbeat 249

- Never liked this tbf. :/

6th Kylie Minogue - Can’t Get You Out Of My Head 250

- Can't stand this!

5th Killers - Mr Brightside 257

- It's a cool track!

4th Leona Lewis – Bleeding Love 267

- Probably the only good track she'll ever record. A strong, urban ballad. Not like the wet $h!t she records now.

3rd Rihanna ft Jay-Z – Umbrella 272

- Yeah, I do love this.

2nd Lady GaGa – Poker Face 324

- :o

1st Lady GaGa – Bad Romance 364

- :o This is my favourite GaGa track. Shocked it made #1!

Expected results, But remember BR is still fresh in many peoples minds, it should drop next year- Its definately not the best song of the noughties, but come on, but when do BJ ever get it right!

Great to see the Killers so high- I disagree with you, Its amazing :(

Thanks for doing this overall, judging by the individual results, BJ seems to be getting more credible- maybe one year a male could win it- in the FAR distant future :kink:

good game overall ^_^
