Cary Elwes will reprise his role as Dr Lawrence Gordon in Saw VII 3D.

Lionsgate confirmed the news in a recent press release, adding that the story will centre on a group of Jigsaw survivors who come together for support from self-help guru Bobby Dagen (Sean Patrick Flanery).

Elwes's Gordon made it out of the first Saw movie alive after being forced to cut off his own foot to escape the shackles of serial killer Jigsaw (Tobin Bell).

Bell, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, Gina Holden, Chad Donella, Laurence Anthony, Dean Armstrong and Naomi Snieckus are also among the cast.

Kevin Greutert will direct the latest Saw, which opens on October 22 against the Paranormal Activity sequel.

Wow. Didn't ever expect to see him back. This film could actually be decent if the script is handled correctly.

Obviously the general word is the first film was good, and after that they've just gone downhill. But Dr. Gordon is back, so maybe this might change.

I haven't watched these films since the third.

It all got too ridiculous for me.

Saw just keeps going and going! I went on the saw ride it was immense!

The Saw ride is indeed immense! I'm going Thorpe Park again this year, to go in that real life action thing or whatever it is. Cannot wait.

We all know I'm a huge Saw fan. But the last 3 or so have been stepping stones, to what I hope will be a fantastic last Saw film. As a true Saw fan I am still looking forward to number VII far more than I think people probably, will ever know. :heehee: Great to see that Carey Elwes will be coming back.

I love that ride. Me and my friends went there. It was amazing. It has to be one of the highlights of my teenage life. But nothing beats Tidal Wave or Colossus.

On a sidenote, Saw Alive. It's a bit scary from the trailers I have seen. Has anyone experienced it?

last one apparently.

So writer Patrick Melton has heavily implied.

However, they've hinted they they would not rule out doing a Prequel in the future.

Well I think a prequel might be quite good actually. I think it's uttely stupid how Jigsaw has been dead for 3 (soon to be 4) films and he's still the main character in it. That's what's killed the whole thing for me personally. Really think this will be the last one, as they're bringing back all the characters who have ever survived Jigsaw's traps.

I remember it being said somewhere that they have enough "material" for 9  I know we are encouraged to recycle more but...

The last one performed below their expectations at the box office, so they've decided to incoporate the 7th and 8th films together. So i've heard anyway.

i fully expect this not to be the last EVER one but it would be nice to have a few years off.
The trailer looks immense! :o The rest before have actually looked very samey/boring. This however looks intriguing, loving the idea of it being in public as well - will be interesting to see how that even happens.
