I don't think Smash! will achieve anything better than a bottom 5 placing. :(

Jesus save me if i ever think about entering them...

I'm a massive Lazarev fan (he was in London three weeks ago for Maslenitsa but I had no clue and only found out about it last week!! ), and I never really got the balls to listen to Smash!!'s stuff. It all looks so so cheesy to me. I think I heard "Belle" once, and that was enough.

I'll stick with Lazarev only, although I have no idea when I'll be sending him to BJSC, and Topalov is not currently making music is he?

Anyway there's another collaboration I'd love to bring to the Buzzjack table. It's in Russian, with rapping in English, and I absolutely L-O-V-E it!

I'm positive it'll be snubbed by Buzzjack though, as it's in Russian and it's not really a track that appeals to voters. Plus, Serebro were just in the last contest with the Russian language, so I'll give it a rest for now.

My next entry is, though, from a former Soviet republic [so we've got Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan] and it was released in late 2008. I think it'll go down well with the Buzzjackers, but it can go either way as it's not a brand new smash.

Hopefully you guys will like it as much as I am at the moment! :cheer:

Yeah, I entered "Almost Sorry" at Nation Song Contest Portugal, it finished bottom 5 in spite of winning the national final in it's original Russian version and over other 7 stellar Russian Pop tracks!

I decided to go with it because I wanted to compensate "Lazerboy"'s third place finish in a previous NF. I also entered "Shattered Dreams" after a while, but that one came Bottom 3!! I was very disgusted with that result.

After a quick and successful coup d'état against the Lettish monarchy, the newly-formed Republic is reverting to the country's original name of Vülkyria.

Oh that's a much better name. Though another diacritic for hosts to leave out causing minor annoyance to me only. :D

Yeah I "came up" with Letland so many years ago it started being embarassing. As for the diacritic, there's always Ctrl+C!

Vülkyria's new selection committee

http://worldlyscandifriend.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/daniel_ferbe_the_bridge1.jpg

For the last few weeks the Vülkyrian braodcaster 2vå has been fully preparing for the next Buzzjack Song Contest. Now their new head of delegation, Mr. Daniel Ferbé, tells us the plans of the country for BJSC LXI.

A new selection commitee

2vå has become more innovative with a new way to select the artist and the song which will represent Vülkyria in January by creating a selection commitee.

Composed of twelve personalities from the music industry (writers, composers, singers, managers…) and representatives from 2vå, this selection commitee met up in late 2013.

A new head of the Vülkyrian delegation

Daniel Ferbé, assistant director of 2vå entertainment department and once a reporter for Aftonpost, has been appointed head of the Vülkyrian Buzzjack Song Contest delegation.

Aleksandr Lebedev, who was the head of the Vülkyrian Buzzjack Song Contest delegation, very involved in his casting director activities, is now artistic advisor of the Vülkyrian Buzzjack Song Contest delegation.

The Grand Final of the Buzzjack Song Contest LXI will be broadcast live on 2vå , commented by Torbjörn Ek. One of the Semi-Finals will be broadcast on 2vå 2.

Back in December Vülkyria was represented by the alternative electronic band Parallels who created an impressive number for their song Ultralight.

Hoyle Road fails to impress

43536.jpg

Predicted by the Vülkyrian press to be the nation's break-out hit at the 61st Buzzjack Song Contest, Hoyle Road couldn't get more than a modest 17th place in its semi-final with only 46 points collected. The biggest supporters of the Vülkyrian entry were Numayania, who have awarded it with the maximum 12 points, and N DNTN who offered 10 points. The remainder points from our other 7 voters was not enough for qualification, even if the Pedestrian track was a mere 8 points from the Final.

Hoyle Road has, however, been having success outside our country. It's a radio hit in Skall and it has so far reached #20 in the official Numayanian charts.

Pedestrian is said to be proud of his performance in the Elëdan contest and wouldn't change a thing about his participation. "The song speaks for itself and I guess it's for acquired tastes. I'm proud of the 46 points it collected and even more of the success it's having internationally. Wouldn't have it any other way."

2vå is reportedly disappointed with the result and rumours abound that Daniel Ferbé, the new head of delegation, is about to be sacked. 2vå and Daniel Ferbé declined to comment, while close sources claim the search is on for a better song to hit the next BJSC which will be held in Daehun, victors of the 61st edition.

BUZZJACK SONG CONTEST 六十二

Tourist x Will Heard - I Can't Keep Up

http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/500/73391794/Tourist.png

Tourist is the Vülkyrian representant at the 62th Buzzjack Song Contest. Together with Will Heard on the sleek and emotional I Can't Keep Up, they hope to become the highest placed Vülkyrian song in the contest's history, which shouldn't be hard to achieve since the best showing for Vülkyria was the last place Jonathan Johansson brought home with Centrum.

Lushington - Settle Down

http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/97727337/Lushington%204mz0v0_G.jpg

Lushington represents Vülkyria at the ▓th edition of Buzzjack Song Contest. Serving Disclosure realness, the young producer immersed his track in the 90s and keeps it classy with a Lucy Pearl sample of the song "Dance Tonight". Settle Down promises to seduce fellow Buzzjackers and hopes to become a staple deep house classic of the contest. Will it be enough to better Tourist's 7th place last edition?

Settle Down a surprise hit

4mz0v0_G.jpeg

With an expected finish position just scrapping the Top 20 of the 63rd Buzzjack Song Contest Final, Vülkyrians were left AGOG when Lushington finished the voting in the 6th position with 119 points, only 4 points shy of TOURIST's record total but one position better than last month's entry.

Settle Down spent half of the voting in the bottom 5 but quickly scaled up the rankings with countries awarding it big points including two 12's from Fljotavik and Séyetana.

Lushington is ecstatic about the result and the success the track is having internationally as it reached the Top 40 in a handful of countries at the time of writing.

The contest was won by Elëdan and RuPaul with the track "Sissy That Walk". The supermodel of the world beat other big favourites from Aeroche and Hendinia and crowned herself the WINNAH!

Elëdan won the rights to host the 64th edition and asked Vülkyria to become their co-hosts. The semi-finals will come to our country and will be held in the Gamlakoncert Hall in Gamlaborg.

Those Semifinal Results

As some of you may now I was a co-host for the 64th edition of BJSC. As some of you know that didn't go too well.

I offer my apologies for the problems I've caused for not revealing the voting results for the Semi-Final stages of that contest.

I realise some of you would still like to know how it would've all turned out had it not been a One Big Final rescue format. I have compiled all the votes I had received on my inbox and here is how it all would've been. Please note these results are not official. They could've been though, sorry!

Woah 2nd in the semi! :o I thought Emerentia would've finished 6th or 7th considering her 14th place in the final, so that's a welcome surprise! Thanks for publishing them Vulker!

I guess that "dnq" is mostly expected, since Belly of the Beast's appeal was very limited and it did finish around mid-table in the final

Pushing On 18th though :/ the hell were these people on?
