April 28, 201015 yr Author Cascada have bombed recently and well Sophie.....the less said the better really, as good as Bittersweet is she hasnt been comercially viable since about 2002. Totally different situations. This is the lead single of Cascada's new album, its different than having a 2nd single flop and then not supporting their 3rd release. Not playlisting them out of the blue is weird. As for Sophie, she's probably deemed too uncool for support.
April 28, 201015 yr Looks like they really might not be playlisting Christina Aguilera and Alexandra Burke then. :o I guess their playlist is too full from Paolo Nutini re-releases and the fifth single from Biffy Clyro to playlist actual potential hits. "Bubbles" is a potential hit. "Candy" really isn't second time around.

I was under the impression it was from a re-release or something. Still though, the fact that Fever and Dangerous did so baddly cant exactly bode well for them.
April 28, 201015 yr Usual whining on buzzjack. I like most of the songs on the playlist, but can't beleive Adam isn't there.
April 28, 201015 yr Robyn fans (like me) need not worry - Annie Mac has Dancing On My Own as her record of the week so it should be a dead cert for the playlist. Surprised Christina still isn't there, hopefully NMT will chart well anyway so they can't ignore it, like with Usher's OMG. Why on earth is Dog Days Are Over still there? Great song but their obsession with it is getting stupid. Same goes for Biffy Clyro - I think it's a law at Radio 1 that every song they release gets at least 5 weeks on the A-list, regardless of what the song is like.

Lots of big names being ignored then
April 28, 201015 yr Sugababes 4.0 don't seem to have a clue about the releasing the 4th single from this flop album.
April 28, 201015 yr Why is Dog Days still playlisted? :???: Still no Christina or Alexandra. On a lighter note, I love the additions this week. Imma Be and Keep Gettin Over You. Still angry at R1 for not playlisting Memories as should be a top ten hit but it still done well on it's own accord so I can't complain. Also, so glad Alicia, Jason and Rihanna are B-list. :w00t:

It's 100 times better than a lot of the other stuff coming from the genre at the minute that they're happy to playlist. Fugative's a rather shocking omission too :o The ones I've bolded I would never expect them to playlist anyway...

April 28, 201015 yr Author Even if they're not releasing a brand new album, its not on their last one, so it counts as a new release.
April 28, 201015 yr quite suprised Miley isn't playlisted. Didn't 'Party in the USA' get an A-list? It wasn't playlisted.
April 28, 201015 yr How can they not playlist alex burke best single so far all night long is such a tune

Or is that released after all of those?
April 28, 201015 yr  I gave up on Radio 1 years ago so I'm not surprised that everyone's moaning over the playlist. If they actually played some music between 9am-12pm I'd probably listen. I don't want to hear Chris Moyles rambling on about something that only he cares about. God forbid Chris Moyles releases another parody album. :manson: :( EDIT: I'm aware there's more to Radio 1 than Chris Moyles but chances of me listening to Radio 1 anytime after midday is slim to nothing. April 28, 201015 yr Author What about Mumford & Sons? Or is that released after all of those? 17th May. Whilst some released that week like Agnes have little chance, I still think they have a chance since they have had lots of Radio 1 support even without having a hit single. I dont know if being released on 7'' only has any influence these days though, it shouldn't really but it might.
April 28, 201015 yr Well enough download releases make it so I don't see why one with a 7" shouldn't. It would be a shame if they were to stop supporting now, they've been growing in stature and whilst they've not had a hit they've slowly been selling and building momentum, 'The Cave' did really well and kept selling the album brilliantly. It's been top 20 since the beginning of the year and top 10 YTD so I see no reason why they would stop support them. They might as well support some 'indie' that might actually help sell something, and it's completely different to everything else on their playlist. :(
