The club is alive with the sound of music is the chorus lyric apparently.

I've heard it at now! I could probably sing it without ever hearing it.

Popjustice Review of the song http://www.popjustice.com/index.php?option...&Itemid=206

Wow excited to hear this now.. Not really sure what to expect though

Also interesting to read that Justin Bieber wanted to record One Shot

Main points

The song is based on an idea by v good songsmith Savan Kotecha; Steve Mac and Andrew Frampton are also on board. The idea is that the chorus takes Rodgers & Hammerstein's 'The Sound Of Music' (NO WAIT COME BACK) but has the boys singing "the club is alive with the sound of music". It's a terrible idea executed brilliantly. Maybe it's a brilliant idea executed brilliantly - to be honest it doesn't really sound anything like the original 'Sound Of Music' tune but it's enough of a talking point to make the single feel like something of an event and a step up for the band which, considering 'One Shot' is still all over the place, is probably quite fortunate. It sounds big. Actually it sounds massive: there are some perfunctory lyrics about "shawties all around", "out with my boys", "I can be the DJ you can be the dancefloor you can get up on me" (you've heard all this a million times before) but the song's secret weapon is its mental production, piledriving beats and more than a slight hint of the kitchen sink.

'The Club Is Alive' is basically JLS doing Black Eyed Peas - it sounds like an international Number One rather than just a UK one and immediately drags JLS' musical output up to the level of their current profile. Over the last few months the band's success has begun to exceed the quality of their debut album, some of which was really quite duff, and 'The Club Is Alive' restores equilibrium. Certain showbiz columnists might even describe the track as 'JLS club heaven' but something that cheesy would never even cross our minds.

I know PopJustice can't always be trusted, but I have changed my mind from "Please God, don't ever let me have the misfortune to hear this" to "This song can't leak fast enough".

First Play of the single is on Monday apparently

Looks like you're going to start hearing JLS' new single 'The Club Is Alive' on the radio from Monday!! #bigtop40

If its more 'One Shot' rather than 'Everybody In Love' / 'Beat Again' then I think I could see myself quite liking it.

definately. OS >>>>> BA >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. EIL

If this is as good as One Shot, then I'll like it, but if it's anything like Beat Again, or Everybody In Love, I won't, as I found those songs very boring.

I'm a bit interested about this though: "'The Club Is Alive' is basically JLS doing Black Eyed Peas". This could mean it will be very different to their old stuff. But it will make them the umpteenth artist this year who are creating their music based upon the success of the Black Eyed Peas last year.

Not that I blame them to be honest. If it does sound like a BEP song, I'll probably really like it.

So this sounds absolutely foul.

You said it. Absolutely awful based on that clip. :puke2:

I find it ok after that, mabye a tad annoying, but I reckon itll be a guitly pleasure for me
Sounds like it brings a whole new meaning to the word 'generic'. Surprised PopJustice were praising it!
