Precocious R&B vocalist/pianist Alicia Keys was hand-picked by Clive Davis as one of the flagship artists for his post-Arista label, J Records. No doubt he was as impressed by her multitude of skills (Keys took a large role in the writing, arranging, and production of her debut album) as by her music, which mates contemporary hip-hop accoutrements to an old-school soul sensibility a la Jill Scott or D'Angelo. Only 20 years old at the time of the album's release, Keys already seemed poised for a major career built upon her soulful voice and classically trained piano chops. While hip-hop played a much bigger role on her second effort, 2003's THE DIARY OF ALICIA KEYS, it was a smash nonetheless, and subsequent recordings have further pushed the boundaries of R&B - HMV

Crazy and not Beautiful?

I think Beautiful must be 3rd, but I'm fairly sure Beautiful is the most popular for top 75 hits

oh WTF?! why play two songs in a row by the same artist! <_<

Because she's worth it (flicks hair) :cheer:

So over 'Empire State Of Mind', I actually prefer Jay-Z's version now.
I just overplayed it way too much when it first leaked haha. I think 'Unthinkable (I'm Ready)' is probably going to be my favourite single from her this era.

I think she may well skip to 'Put It In A Love Song' for the UK next because I've read she wanted a summer release for that. There is still the possibility for a 5th single though. I quite like it but it's not very commercial.

I counted 12 for Stay as well

Oh I hope not.

Really not a fan of 'Put It In A Love Song', it's so simple. :(

I dont think anyone is worth it- especially with a song as overplayed as that, its also unfair he plays two songs by the same artist and miss a song by an artist with just one song in the top 40

EDIT: right, I see what you did there, nice!
