Stars Kayvan Novak (Fone/Facejacker), first feature film from the brilliant Chris Morris (Brass Eye), which is comedy about suicide bombers...

Saw this tonight and was very funny. Some of the humour is very "out there" and can imagine not to everyone's taste (as you'd expect from Chris Morris) and I can imagine this film will bring a bit of controversy. Most of the cinema (which was full) was laughing very regularly. Definitely would recommend it.

I want to see this, I like Chris Morris. It takes proper talent to make terrorism funny.

He's not the first one mate...

I will definitely watch this at some point as I'm a huge Chris Morris fan and of all his fellow (former) Armistice graduates.

Last night on Radio 5 I listened to the story that was a significant inspiration behind it: The Blackburn Resistance - 'The Blackburn Resistance' consisted of three twenty-something Muslim men from the North of England. They came to public attention following their arrest for possessing a home movie which police said was terrorist propaganda. The three men had filmed themselves in a local park, rolling along the ground in camouflage and face-paint, seemingly undertaking military training. They edited the video, and interspersed it with images of Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein but maintain the film was nothing more than a spoof -- an homage to the heroes of Hollywood action films. However, judge and jury saw things differently, and two out of 3 members were sentenced to prison under the terrorism act.

.... Still seeing as I was aware Chris Morris was mooting about this project in 2002; then I wonder if he will follow through with the concept about the Son Of God coming back to Earth as an African American "King Of Pop" star ...... as I'm sure that will cause some conflict.

And that just sums up how fukked-up this nation is and why I wonder why we even bother to defend British "democracy"... When we cant even take a joke... Well, of course, we dont arrest Chris Morris for doing more or less the same thing do we...? Because he's known, and, er, not Asian...
