What compromise do you intend in this situation? How about we bring back the semis to please people but then only turf out 3 songs a la BJSCV, I mean I'm hosting so I should get the chance to do this again, right? :kink:

Perhaps bring back a single semi with the top twenty from the previous contest AQ'ing? :kink:

You all may not like the big final, but we may not like the semi finals, so I guess that isn't a valid reason for the poll to be dismissed. Also, you all complain about how authoritarian the mods can be and how they force things through without asking us, yet you get pissy at a democratic poll. :lol: Half of the people here don't like the semi system. Half don't like the big final system. So this contest should stop seeing as half of the participants won't be happy with whatever way it goes.

 

As for the songs - if you don't like listening to 47 of them in bulk, then don't. You have two weeks to listen to them, so it's your own fault if you listen to them all at once. Use your head.

I can't believe I was actually permitted to do that by the way in V - the mods must have been a lot more lenient back then to say the least :lol: I was using the Eurovision rule of '24 in a final is optimum' and didn't want it going over 25 - you know, back when the hosts had more of a say than the mods in how to run their own contest :kink:

'Use your head' pretty much is the best argument in this thread! No way it could be proven wrong :lol: In fact it should be the motto for every change we have :kink:

 

Nobody can order songs/remember them after only one listen! However there's a thing called multiple listens. I personally re-organise my playlist to get rid of the stuff i didn't like at all from first and second listen, I never dismiss a song only after one listen, then i listen again and again gradually removing stuff/skipping tracks I have made my mind about. On my mp3 player i create a playlist where i have only songs that i particularly love. This way i'm subconciously deciding on my top 10 points and then order tracks and send them in a PM, necessarily without any BJSC songs played at the moment!!! Nothing complicated. At all. And tbh i'm not like the person who tends to listen to 50 new songs easily. I prefer to stick with albums i already love but sometimes i dig out something and play it because i need fresh stuff every now and then.

Kopečka finished 9th just the one time (Opium) IIRC :o 7th was where I always used to finish :heehee: Nowadays it seems to be top five every odd-numbered contest (with the exception of XXIII), although I'm on a nice run of three top tens in a row atm which hasn't happened since...I finished top ten four contests in a row between IV and VII :o

I can assure you I will most certainly be standing by my word and leaving if this goes through, because I cannot actually find one positive in the big final personally, and I can also assure you, I am most certainly not replacable ^_^

I'd take part again if it was one big final, so you can consider yourself replaced! :P

 

But seriously, I enjoyed having a break from it for a few weeks (just like I did last year), however that break will be permanent if we go back to semi's.

it doesn't matter if ANYONE leaves. me, rontvia, ashton, the contest goes on. no country is more important than another. yes maybe the one big final wasn't a raving success but a little over half the participants DO NOT WANT TO GO BACK TO SEMIS, so i'm not sure what you're suggesting we do? you're just whining and whining rather than trying to do anything constructive.

 

i say shorten the voting period to maybe a week and a half / a week and definitely use a recap for the next contest. honestly at this point i'd rather just see a decision be made. no more polls after this unless the one big final thing really IS such a huge disaster.

I don't like the new format :( It's too many songs. Maybe it's good because you're in the final without the chance that you won't qualify but I didn't have those feelings what I felt before. Maybe somebody knows what I mean. It looked like a mess to me. Sorry :rolleyes:

I always tend to get six top tens in a row before it comes to a crashing halt. Well less so last month, 12th wasn't that bad a way to end it. I can't see me finishing top ten very often in the 'one big final' format though at all. 1st was a nice surprise, I was starting to think I was never going to get out of what had become my comfort zone clinging on for dear life inside, or just outside the top ten :lol:
