August 10, 201014 yr I'm seeing a #3. Song just isn't connecting with the public, I guess. They've had a huge amount of promo, Radio 1 playlisting, tons of video plays, remixes, campaigns, web chats, signings, lead single etc and it's about to be overtaken on it's third full day on iTunes. :(
August 10, 201014 yr They're on set to sell at LEAST 50k this week, quite possibly a fair bit more. That does not equate in any way to 'the song not connecting with the public', whether they land a #1 or 'just' a top 3 entry. It's a big hit.
August 11, 201014 yr Still #1 in the mids! *blinks and double takes* They've slipped to #3 on iTunes, but combined they are just holding onto a #2. Amazon sales seem to be keeping this #1 attempt alive. Figures update: 30,833 in total so far, 1.6k (is that all??!?!?!) of that is down to physical sales. There's a 3k gap between Flo Rida and The Saturdays, and 7k away from Eminiem/Rihanna. Edited August 11, 201014 yr by olm-remix

Truly ridiculous thing to say just because it won't be #1. It wasn't even top 20 in radio or TV airplay last week so to be selling so well is a great achievement for them.
August 11, 201014 yr I'm just saying, it's had tons of promotion (more than any of their other singles), Radio 1 airplay, lots of music channel support, signings, web shows, compititions, remixes, fans buying multiple versions and yet it's went from being combined #1 on iTunes to #3 and now being caught up by #4 in the spce of a few days. This happened with Forever Is Over as well and look at thats chart run. The Sats should be #1 with a huge lead yet they're lucky to be getting #2 on Sunday. They're just going to be pushed down more and more with new entries unless they can somehow stablise themselves in the top five but at the rate they're going just now it's not looking good. After this week when all the fans have bought multiple copies of everything and it's made it's 50K it's just bound to plummet.

After this week when all the fans have bought multiple copies of everything and it's made it's 50K it's just bound to plummet. It hasn't had tons of promotion., it's had a few shows which don't get high ratings. And it's pretty much the same shows that they do for every single (GMTV, This Morning etc.) Magic Numbers and Alan Carr don't rate hugely. Yes it's had Radio 1 airplay but it's still not top 20 on overall airplay. It hasn't had lots of music channel support, as evidenced by not being top 20 on the TV airplay chart. Signings, web shows, competitions and remixes are hardly going to make it sky rocket.
August 11, 201014 yr Some 'Missing You' info. ^_^ Downloads 02 Tesco 03 iTunes 05 Amazon 12 Play.com Radio 1: A-List Airplay: 21 TV Airplay: 19 Youtube: 1,095,720 views Edited August 11, 201014 yr by animal
August 11, 201014 yr 'Missing You' for me is those songs which take time to adapt to the public, as it took a while for me to like it, unlike JCGE which i fell in love with instantly also the fact that JCGE is comic relief, it will sell great first but then twindle.
August 11, 201014 yr I love the single! Really wish it would make #1 this time, they well deserved it! Although, I know that it's absolutely pointless right now, but I wish they choosed Ready to Rise as an A-side rather than Missing You. I adore this song, one of my favourites not only of The Sats but of all the songs that are around at the moment. Anyway, what's done is done, Missing you has all the qualities of #1, it'll be only fair if they made it this time. Go The Saturdays! :cheer:
August 12, 201014 yr Today's midweek update.... According to a poster on Popjustice, they're still number 1 today. Flo Rida is now 1987 copies behind the girls... eeek! So they've got a lead of just under 2k. Come on girls! Gutting if they lose the top spot at the last minute.. Total sales of Missing You apparently are 37,429 so far.
August 12, 201014 yr God. :o This is probably the closest chart battle of the year. :o I think it definitely is! August 12, 201014 yr I can do #2 and 3 :D Maybe get a physical copy on Saturday, although my HMV is hit and miss with them :( I hope you will be paying a visit to P!NC Aidan :P I miss you.
August 12, 201014 yr To be honest I think The Sats have such a loyal fanbase is because they actually take time to upload videos of everything they do. If it wasn't for the flips i'd probably still love The Sats but I would't be as inclined to help them, it's only because I know they're so humble, funny and genuinely great friends that I really want them to get this #1. They're such fun girls. Only a 2K difference is tough, though. :( Really close.
