I'm really, really doubting my prediction skills these days because of Sweden and Croatia. If I could've picked three certs, it would've been them along with Azerbaijan...

Same...but, at the same time, this is making it even more unpredictable, which I like in a final. Azerbaijan haven't got this in the bag at all, so we could have some really exciting votes on Saturday!

On saturday I will be pretending in my head that Alyosha is singing "Sha-la-lie" :(
Turkey has completely and truly won me over with that amazing performance

We could have a surprise winner. If Cyprus can beat out Croatia & Sweden, they can beat anyone :kink: I'm saying Azerbaijan, Ireland or Denmark if they improve a bit, along with Germany, maybe something like Romania if Azerbaijan, Ireland or Denmark don't manage to improve

Jerick, stop telling us Iceland & Finland aren't Scandinavia, people in the UK think different and I shall never change my mind :P

I thought it was a deliberate and planned thing! :o

I never said it wasn't

It's quite modern folky pop as it goes. I imagine it would've qualified at least.

Semi 2 must have been an absolute bloodbath. I knew something was amiss when all five of my 'might make it' predictions did!

I predicted all of them in my top final 12, saying that Denmark/Cyprus could provide an upset, which they did, but I thought more at the expense of Israel/Ukraine, not Croatia and Sweden

I bet Croatia was 11th placed, with Turkey or Israel 10th, I really found Turkey's and Israel's effort rather poor.

:puke: at Ukraine and Israel getting through! Awful songs!

So happy for Ireland! Its about time they got through to the final :D

Also, Drip Drop IS a good song, but I don't think the singers vocals weren't that great tbh and i'm quite surprised Lithuania didnt get through actually.

I don't get what all the fuss is about with Sweden not getting through? The songs awful and so were her vocals imo :kink:

Now i've heard all the songs through to the final, my favorites are France, Iceland, Armenia and Azerbaijan :) Oh and i cant make my mind up on whether i like Germanys song or not

beezee, you gotta change 4 flags from you sig for saturday night :P

If people are going for acoustic pop this year, Belgium will romp it. As it is, with Cyprus qualifying I think that'll split the vote. I'm predicting a win from any of: Germany, Romania, Ireland, Azerbaijan, Denmark.
Eva won't win. It's far, FAR too ESC by numbers - it'll probably do a Dum Tek Tek.

Currently I reckon the safest bets for victory are Romania and Germany. I can very easily see a shock winner this year though - Belgium?

Romania pulled out a great performance tonight, I wouldn't rule it out.

If Safura does as well as her second rehearsal - she should be fine.

I'd like to see Germany win, but I bet £20 with my friend that Azerbaijan would win :drama: Don't screw me over, Safura ¬¬

^ (Rich) Which perhaps doesn't bode well for Lena either :o

And OMG, today in my German lesson - the German assisstant said she was going to put on 'the biggest song in Germany' for our last lesson and it was only bloody Satellite :P I had a great time singing along, to the bemusment of my classmates at how I knew the words

Haha, very cool!

Yeah I see where you're coming from, although with Sweden it was surely the combination of her voice and 'oh god, yet another ballad' - but yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Lena does flop

Indeed, JErick, why are you so against such wonderful countries as Iceland and Finland being the part of Scandinavia? Sharing is good :kink:
I bet Croatia was 11th placed, with Turkey or Israel 10th, I really found Turkey's and Israel's effort rather poor.

LOL

are you for real?

Turkey 10th?

I have that put up as the winner of this semi! :P

What is the definition of Scandinavia anyway? What does a country need to be in order to be a part of it?

There's absolutely NO WAY Turkey was anywhere in the 6-10 places, it was the closing performance and it was quite good. Israel however :( The recap part they were showing was literally the worst part of the song   It was still orgasmic <3

Paddy Power's updated odds:

Azerbaijan 6/4

Germany 6/1

Armenia 8/1

Israel 12/1

Turkey 14/1

Ireland 14/1

Belgium 14/1
