Posted July 10, 200619 yr The Killers - When You Were Young http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/KILLERSCDSPRE.JPG Chart-topping synth-rockers The Killers make their eagerly anticipated return with brand new single 'When You Were Young'. Branching out from the icy Anglophile sound of their debut album 'Hot Fuss', 'When You Were Young' draws folk influences from Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, amongst others, for a more Americana sound, whilst still retaining all the skycraping steely guitars and impossibly euphoric choruses to produce a wonderfully intoxicating dose of pop sophistication and rock 'n' roll exhilaration. 'When You Were Young' is the first single to be taken from The Killers' sophomore album, 'Sam's Town', named after a casino in their hometown of Las Vegas. - HMV UK Release date: 18-9-2006 The Killers - When You Were Young [flash=450,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5Zq3FSoDuk.swf Listen to a clip: HERE Is it me or does Brandon's voice sound a bit weird? Anyway I like what I hear, not that similar to the first album which is always good. ;)
July 10, 200619 yr The song sounds pretty good so far and does sound a lot similar to the stuff of "Hot Fuss" and I thing the new album is due to be released sometime in September.
July 12, 200619 yr HERE Is it me or does Brandon's voice sound a bit weird? Anyway I like what I hear, not that similar to the first album which is always good. ;) They said they wanted to change their sound as they thought their music was too inspired by British musicians or something So basically wanted to sound more American But why? The album sold over 2,000,000 their I think And also STM and a few others sound really American to me!
July 13, 200619 yr i think they are just trying to get more respect as musicians. They don't wont just be considered an (indie) pop band...
July 13, 200619 yr Author Basically Brandon said that the biggest influence on their new stuff was Bruce Springstein and so it his voice sounds weird because he's trying to sound more like him ;) Music isn't about what would sell the most or how much 'respect' you get.

July 13, 200619 yr Author I do hope, great comeback, still got their trademark sound but its different, shows growth for sure ^_^ Basically The Killers vs. Bruce Springstein

July 24, 200618 yr I hope the album's sound doesn't change too drastically as 'Hot Fuss,' had some right corkers on such as 'Mr Brightside,' and 'Somebody Told Me.' :D
