Oh yes, country of course :P Knew I was missing one. Country is hardly a successful genre here, there's only been like 8 country albums to make the top 20 since 2000 (I think that was the figure MW gave after Lady Ant got #8?)

Still, it's huge in America. :P

And commercial success doesn't = quality. ^_^

I think country is amongst the best genres - if not THE best. So authentic and real.

American Idol is full of country singers. :D Plus there's Miley and Taylor Swift who are Country-pop artists. Shania Twain hasn't released anything recently but she's successful as well as Faith Hill - There You'll Be re-entered at #10 in the UK Singles Chart in late 2008 due to a girl (Amy Connolly?) singing it at her audition.

Just goes to show, with the right promo, country can be big in the UK. Radio just refuses to play it. <_<

I hate country. It's just too boring for words.

I find country quite boring too. However, I haven't listened to it much, to be fair. I didn't like the Lady Antebellum song. It was near the top of US iTunes for ages though.

Good taste. :D

Rock is a great genre too. But not like the $h!tty indie stuff or metal. Guns N Roses, Janis Joplin and the like are the best sort of rock artists. ^_^ Prodigy are also up there too but they come under a whole list of genres. The dominant one is Electronica though - oh and punk.

I'm rather partial to it, myself.

The only problem is - she is using up a lot of sales now that might best be used over a full week, next week...

Good taste. :D

*The* Prodigy are 'alternative dance'

They're also the best band of all time in my opinion, but that's a different story.

1) "The" isn't *that* significant. :P It's only there to be specific. ^_^

2) Again, I hate the term 'dance'. Cha Cha Slide is technically dance. Dancing Queen is technically dance. Electronica, Punk, Techno and Rave are The Prodigy's dominant genres.

3) They are indeed the best band OF ALL TIME (regarding vocal groups [who don't play instruments], Destiny's Child are the best - NO QUESTION! :P)

"The" is significant.

The artist known as 'Prodigy' (witout a 'the') is completely different.

I don't like the term dance either, but the fountain of knowledge that is Wikipedia says The Prodigy's genre is alternative dance. ;o

Such a vague term though.

'Dance' really can't be defined in musical terms. A 'dance song' is basically a song that makes you want to dance.

I still stick with Electronica/Punk/Rave/Techno.
