marrb, you're a mess. Ryan is probably disappointed because it's TOTAL CRAP (I hope he won't mind me speaking for him like that) and quite rightly. After the likes of the singles, Dumb and The Silence, this is the best she can come up with? The only versatility she's showing is the ability to sing dreadful songs as well as decent ones.

Vey true my bad-I just think that all the doom mongering is pointless.Alex has a large enough fanbase now that are very supportive of her.Syco are sending her to LA for the video shoot so hopefully it will be a good one.The song is no better or worse than Dizzee Holiday and Dirtee Disco which are both pure cheese yet Dizzee released them.

She BETTER release the Silence as the 5th single after this one (in time for x factor) or ill be PISSED!! <_< It is SO much better than this song!

'Star without you' is millions of miles away from the masterpiece that 'Holiday' is, so please stop talking rubbish to defend Alex.

The song is somehow kinda growing on me, but it is still such a disappointing move from her. :(

To be fair, she is not really "reduced" to do that, it's not like it was her only activity at the moment. She had a succesful album out and a few hits, probably more to come. She's fine.

Yes, 'Holiday' is a masterpiece of the genre, and anyway 'Star without you' isn't even the same type of music, so how you came up with comparing both is just plain stupid.

And I'm not saying it's gonna flop, I said it's disappointing coming from her. For f***'s sake we can discuss the quality of a song without having annoying loons shooting "OMG ITS GONNA BE A HIT SO SHUT UUUUP". <_<

It maybe that her comment about going back to her roots and wanting to try that type of sound has not gone down well.I think she has pulled it off very well vocally even though the song sounds over-produced in parts it is uber-catchy and hopefully it will be a big Summer hit.
