Always will be? I'm sure people were saying this about Madonna once, and barring "4 Minutes" her last era was pretty pointless.

may not have matched her previous sales but still very relevant in the music industry, still outselling many other singers with nearly 3-4 million worldwide

How much did MADGES last tour bring in? yeah, fact check next time plz! as much as i really dislike madonna, she and kylie will never be as irrelevant as some artists (30 seconds to jupiter comes to mind)

True, she's an icon in a way Kylie has never quite managed. It's harder to imagine a Kylie episode of "Glee" for instance.

Not really, people said that about Madonna and i don't think she is that relevant any more.

sales disprove that theory

kylie is an icon, no denying that, just not on a worldwide scale. Glee would not do a Kylie episode becuase its an american show and Kylie is not and prob never will be huge there

"Wow" did well didn't it?

yeah wow hovered in and around the top 10 THAT'S why I said she didn't have MUCH success in download sales, instead of NO success

Cheap shot, and tbh you could have aimed better. "Kings & Queens" basically demolished the competition in its genre and the whole fan summit thing is far more relevant than, say, putting a load of semi-naked people in your video for attention ;)

i agree it was a low blow, these are 2 hugley diff acts and both revelant in their own genre so very hard to compare them

Why can't a song now, just do well because the song is genuinely good/great and appeals to alot of people? Why does there have to be some reason behind how established the act is or whatever? 'All The Lovers' is doing well, because I believe it appeals to more than just Kylie's fanbase. I'm no Kylie fan, she's always hit and miss with me personally, but ATL is by far the greatest thing she has ever recorded imo. I'm not the only one to think that either, all my mates have said they think it's actually pretty good/great. I believe the song is selling because of the quality of the song, but I guess we will have to wait and see next week as to whether it manages to keep selling consistently or whether it really is just one of those "fanbase + a couple of others" sorta buys.

kylie doesnt need naked people in the video for attention. if you dont like it then tell joseph kahn, it's his video! either way, THAT band in your sig can only ever dream to have the success and be as relevant as kylie is in the music industry.

not relevant. never was. never will be.

Robyn really exceeding my expectations going top ten here :o Great song but her sound isn't exactly the 'in' thing at the moment, less so than when Dream On flopped into the top 30 just over 18 months ago. Great to see though, hope it goes top ten officially, to give her a 4th in total :D

It's like I said the other day, 'Dream On' was a low profile dance act featuring her as a guest vocalist and this is the lead single from her new album. It's different.

Except 30STM are incredibly relevant in their genre.

sales disprove that theory

Not in the UK really, especially with her most recent singles.

yes in their genre maybe. nobody else cares though LOL xxxx

You're not the target audience, they're relevant to all the people who saw them in their arena tour in February and the people who loved them at the Big Weekend. I've got nothing against "All The Lovers" but all these cheap shots and pointless loonage is getting on my tits. You're failing to see the bigger picture, if her comeback single hadn't been as strong Radio 1 would have been obliged to play it anyway because it's Kylie and mentalists like yourself would have a big strop. It would have been very easy to ignore 30STM with this era, for all its greatness "A Beautiful Lie" didn't sell a huge number of copies, but R1 recognised the brilliance of "Kings & Queens" and took a punt. It's payed off and the band aren't looking back.

A lot of people care, the fact the King & Queens did as well as it did shows that they will be able to hit the mainstream extremely successfully sooner rather than later. Kylie is only relevant in her genre as well.

Big Weekend? Sandwiched between Chipmunk and Justin Bieber, hardly their target audience, they blew everyone away.

Maybe, but they had similar production/sound (the sad electro ballad), both had Radio 1 a-listing and both are new songs to the UK not previously available on an album. I'd be surprised if most people didn't just think that Dream On was a new Robyn solo single. It was a real surprise flop at the time, there's no denying that - iirc hardly anybody on here saw it missing the top ten let alone the top 25 :o Which made me question if people were still interested in her here.

The main reason I had doubts over Dancing On My Own going top ten though isn't because of the song quality (because it's fantastic) but because urban has basically been dominant this year and I'm really shocked to see songs from other genres getting a foothold in the top ten these days :o I'd really only regard 4 songs in the iTunes top ten as urban at the moment though, which is a big change from 2 weeks ago!

1. Shout - football chant pop

2. Wavin' Flag - world/pop?

3. All The Lovers - pop

4. Kickstarts - dance

5. Frisky - urban

6. Not Afraid - urban

7. Gettin' Over You - dance

8. Dancing On My Own - pop

9. Ridin' Solo - urban

10. OMG - urban

I suppose Wavin' Flag, Kickstarts and Gettin' Over You are all questionable though...

probably did. wonder how much money they make from their music though. not much lol
