June 24, 201014 yr It seems all the European teams are failing, so far England, Germany, and Slovakia are thru, Holland have already got a leg up I think.
June 24, 201014 yr Haha! Italians complaining about people rolling around on the floor eh? :kink: This is the first time that the two finalists have been knocked out at the group stage :o And the first time that Italy haven't made the knockout stages since 1974!
June 24, 201014 yr Hope you don't mind me posting odds. :P Brazil 4/1 Argentina 9/2 Spain 5/1 Holland 6/1 Germany 10/1 England 10/1 Uruguay 16/1 Portugal 20/1 Paraguay 28/1 USA 40/1 That's the top 10. Interesting to see England and Germany equal pre-match! :o I fail to see how Portugal can be so low down though.
June 24, 201014 yr Italy and France are both absolutey diabolical though and neither is a surprise at all. France have been in disarray since 2008 and all of Italy's best players from the World Cup win are either retired (Totti, Del Piero), too old and no longer good enough (Cannavaro, Zambrotta, Gattuso) or injured (Buffon, Pirlo). They've been replaced with no real quality. My £20 on Paraguay to win the group at 11/4 was a good shout! :cheer:

June 24, 201014 yr Portugal will be so low down because they're likely to have to play Spain in the next round. Oh I see! Silly me. :kink: I think Portugal would beat them, but anyway.
June 24, 201014 yr I can't see Chile going through. The way they play means Spain will tear them to shreds. They cannot and do not play defensive, and I think it's the only way you can beat Spain.
June 24, 201014 yr Absolutley brilliant game this afternoon, and happy for Slovakia to get through :D
June 24, 201014 yr Btw, one of Uruguay, South Korea, Ghana and USA will definitely be in the semifinal.
June 24, 201014 yr Btw, one of Uruguay, South Korea, Ghana and USA will definitely be in the semifinal. It would be logical to see Ghana there as the first African team ever IN Africa...! (But USA is also very strong - so I say the winner of USA-Ghana will make it).
June 24, 201014 yr 2 great goals from Japan kudos to them, I think its all over for the Danes, unless they pull one early and push themselves for a second in the closing minutes of the game.
June 24, 201014 yr 2 great goals from Japan kudos to them, I think its all over for the Danes, unless they pull one early and push themselves for a second in the closing minutes of the game. You wait ages for a spectacular goal direct from a free kick then two come along at once
June 24, 201014 yr Suddenly England's poor performances (but victories) against Mexico & Japan in the pre World Cup friendlies don't seem quite so bad now do they .......
June 24, 201014 yr Well, here's a little re-cap as the the Round of 16 up to and including todays matches.... Uruguay v. South Korea Argentina v. Mexico USA v. Ghana England v. Germany Paraguay v. Japan Netherlands v. Slovakia Will be interesting to see who else will round out the field, other than Brasil......
June 24, 201014 yr One of the worst performances of the tournament from Denmark tonight, very disappointed in them.
June 24, 201014 yr Italy and France finishing last in their respective groups has to be the biggest shocker so far, especially since both were in the final last time.
