Hello all, Oh dear, what an abysmal start

Steve was absolutely crap- how on earth did he get through

Gamu had a good voice, but I didnt like the arrangement of that song, and completely overdone waterworks as well

Jahm were easily the worst group I have ever seen, as were the two people- the girl was very average as well

Katie was really sweet, but her voice was just not strong enough, shame :(

oh and the Mercy woman-     PURE GENIUS!! her to win! :cheer:

I hope the talent is being saved as that was a terrible start

OK, Holly on ITV2 was brilliant!

how on earth she wasnt included in the main show was unbelievable easily the best of the whole night

Agree 100% with this. Very disappointing first show, imo.

Steve? The camp man who sang 'Disco Inferno'? Erm...no.

Gamu was good but not great. Katie according to Simon Cowell was "likeable". I found her irritating and talked too much just for the sake of talking. She might improve but I suspect she'll always be a motormouth (thanks to editing ;) ).

"Mercy uurrrrrgggghhh!!! Why won't you release me? RELEASE ME!!!!"

Let's be honest, she didn't deserve to go through but this is what The X Factor has been reduced to. -_-

But come on- she was hilarious! and it was a bit different at least :kink:

tbh though Holly saved it- cant believe she wasnt on the main show

Gamu was amazing.

The rest of the show was dull except that woman at the end. INSANE but I love her already.

I thought she was 100% annoying. I really didn't expect the sob stories to come in so early in the series.

Norma

Were some of the auditioners autotuned? Their voices pitches sounded messed with?!?!

Yeah they sounded very autotuned! (even some of the crap ones they didn't let through)

Its a disgrace if they are..

I liked the sound of the group 'Noir' who sang Paparazzi. Its annoying we only got to hear about 3 lines of the song though because they sounded pretty good. :)

The Mercy woman at the end was just, well, hilarious. Oh and so were the group who sang Bad Romance. How embarrassing... :P

Only three decent acts on the main show for me... Gamu, Noir (the next Scooch maybe :kink: ) and the mad woman at the end - I thought she was actually really good, sounded akin to something Bjork or Yoko would release

I also noticed the autotune aswell, particularly with the mad woman - sounded like she was using a vocoder at times...

Everything else was either terrible or very average. Jahm were very funny though.

I noticed the autotune too (which is why I came to this thread). The thing is, it's not like they can stop using it for next week, after seeing the reactions of the viewers, because it's pre-recorded. That's if it is autotuning though. We could just be getting it wrong.

I found that group that "sang" Bad Romance absolutely hilarious! I was laughing so much whilst watching them. And that crazy woman at the end was funny too.

It doesn't sound like autotune, more of a vocoder. But I'm guessing it's just the way the sound is being picked up and being transcribed to tv. I doubt the performances have been manipulated! In some venues, I'm guessing the sound hasn't been adjusted correctly.
