So far I've seen three who have "potential" but it could go either way if they made the live finals.

Cher - We've seen her sing one song. Now she has to prove she's no one trick pony and showcase her vocals brilliantly on another song at boot camp.

Liam - He's clearly a good singer but he's FAR too much like Leon Jackson. Well, actually I already think Liam is better than Leon (how many of those live shows did Leon completely bum note his way through his songs - and he still won!!! ) I don't know what the Grate British voting public were drinking in December 2007 but pour my glass of it down the drain.

**name** - 51 year old woman who sang 'I Who Have Nothing'. She has a really strong voice but age will go against her. Quelle surprise. If Susan Boyle can do well off the back of Britain's Got Talent, why can't someone over 30 do well on The X Factor. I wonder if Susan Boyle would be successful had she auditioned for The X Factor?

Saw clips on this... I mean, whaaaaaa??? How can she actually call herself "Cher", there's kind of already a Cher who's been around for about 40 years....

And the Billy Idol sneer thing...?? Oh come on, what a fukkin' try-hard......

I swear that Brenda who did Pink's So What was a bloke!
How can she actually call herself "Cher"

It's her birth name, not a nickname or stagename.

Cher was absolutely amazing, definitely my favourite so far. Ablisa were obviously hilarious, but I felt a bit sorry for Natalie.

Cher was on This Morning and when asked who she would like to perform with.. She said Nicki Minaj

 at Holly and Philip who had no idea who Nicki was

How many weeks are the auditions normally on for? I'm getting bored of them already. I want the live shows!

I totally agree with you about Mary. She's great, but I don't think she'll do well due to the fact that she's older. :(

Here here!

I swear that Brenda who did Pink's So What was a bloke!

 That was so funny! I couldn't stop laughing. :P

She did really look like that old man off Britain's Got Talent who was the Madonna impersonator (who used to be the Kylie impersonator) though.

Rebecca from Dublin has joined a girlband also. Don't know how true it is, we'll see soon enough! ^_^

OH NOOO! Is she the one

who looks a little like Amelle from the Sugababes at first glances? If so she was amazing on her own :(

Or maybe she won't do well, because she really isn't THAT good... ;)

So I compiled a list of all the acts put through so far (yes, got nothing better to do), and ranked them by categories...

OVER 25s

1. Matt Cardle, 27 - "You Know I'm No Good" [E02]

The Boys category seems to be the worse by far this year, as well as the Groups which don't look very promising. The Over 25s looks by far the best while the Girls look quite mediocre imo.

Based on airtime given, here's who I predict will get to the liveshows...

Matt Cardle, 27 - "You Know I'm No Good" [E02]

Mary Byrne, 50 - "I Have Nothing" [E02]

Cher Lloyd, 16 - "Turn My Swag On" [E03]

New Bootcamp-Formed Boyband (inc. Liam Payne, 16 - "Cry Me a River" [E03] + Niall Horan, 16 - "So Sick" [E02])

New Bootcamp-Formed Girlband (inc. Rebecca Creighton, 20 - "Cry Me Out" [E02])

No Boys in this list so far.

I have to agree with Jonjo here. She's OK but she is being way bigged-up on here.

Is she? I think there have been a few people who said they like her, the rest dislike her. Hardly "bigged-up" in fairness.

I think there is only myself and Jonjo who have actually said that she isn't that great ... and one other poster who thought she was good but didn't live up to the hype. Apart from one or two I've missed ... I'm pretty sure everyone else thinks she's fabulous.

I actually like her (gosh ... I sound like Simon!) as a person and she did have a good voice ... probably good enough to get past boot-camp but definitely not good enough for the finals. Having said that ... it depends how dreadful all the others are. The thing I can see happening though ... is Simon (unless the over 28's is his category) having said 'I LIKE you Mary' in her audition ... will turn on her the same way he turned on Dan Evans and that Nikki girl when they went through to the finals. In other words he'll just be holding back any humiliating little comments he has for the last few weeks.

But then again ... ritual humiliation is all that the X-Factor is about. It is a shame ... it started off about the music and the competitors ... now its just a freak show. The difference being, as Jedward proved last year, the Freaks are getting to a further stage each time.

I didn't like the Cher girl either. Fair dues to her doing something different but I wasn't overwhelmed. TBH none of them so far have really struck me as being anything special. I guess we'll have to see what happens when we get past the audition stages and they stop wasting 10+ minutes on various freak shows.

Sorry, I must've got my forums mixed up. I read the DigitalSpy ones and they're just full of negativity. :heehee: I agree with you though. She'll have a problem if the theme is something which doesn't require a huge song, but if there's a power ballad week or something then she'll do well. My main reason for saying that she won't do well because she's older is because she won't be as easy to mould as a younger person, which I think the judges might take into consideration, imo.

Thank christ Ablisa didn't go through. The punching was amazing but they were just VILE. :puke2: And I don't see why people are going crazy for Cher. She's nice and has a good voice and did something different, but she sounded exactly like Keri to the point where it looked like she was just imitating her rather than singing her song. The only person I'm really looking forward to seeing again is Matt Cardle. I hope Niall Horan (Xtra Factor - Dublin) improves because I think he is capable of better and I think he chose the wrong song for the auditions...

So, err, why no surname....

She'll have to change it anyway, if she gets a deal, no WAY she can call herself just "Cher".....

Well, I guess if she was born with that name, not her fault. Blame her parents for being total dumbasses..... -_-
